YIPYIP can confirm this as well as if you saved CALL HISTORY backups then your tabs will be slow until you delete the history. Pimbackup is the bug why not sure but it has been noted in a bunch of threads

I haven't noticed the lag on the texting on this new rom yet but I have tried several very popular custom roms over the past month and had the VERY bad texting lag, you described, on some of them. I wish i knew what was causing it. Someone mentioned pimbackup causing the problem, but i don't use it, so it must be something else. I had the lag problem on Conflipper's last touch pro custom rom so I couldn't even use it. I used calkulin's kitchen for a couple weeks and didn't experience the lag problem. But this new rom is working GREAT for me conflipper. Everything working perfect and fast. Thanks so much for your hard work.

i dont use pimbackup either, never have, the only backup i've ever used is nscontacts backup, but it does it before i install it and restore my contacts so i dont believe that has something to do with it. it doesn't lag much at all if any right after flashing but even if i dont install anything for some reason after about an hour of idle use, it lags very bad... i wonder if its a hardware issue or what? why does the touch pro have problems when my 6700 and 6800 which were nowhere near as technologically advanced as this magical device never lagged or even had a ms between the time i pressed the button and the time the letter appeared onscreen... just doesn't make sense but i guess i'll deal...

and the fm being disabled is a load of we should by throwing bricked touch pros at our local vendors

ok im done with the smilies, i never use them so i had to get my months worth out of the way

Has anyone noticed that when you go into sounds and notifications to change the ringer for incoming phone calls that there is only 5 to choose from? All the standard windows notification sounds and ringers are on the phone cause I saw them in file explorer, but they don't show up where you change it. Did you know about this little glitch Con? Is there an easy fix?

I saw this, but did not confirm the ringers were in fact present I simply pulled them off an old backup and dumped them in the ringers folder and it works great. Just assumed he left them off for size or space issues.

I have the texting lag and it's intermittent, always there but worse at some times. I never use PIM backup. I always activesync but with this ROM flash I tried it and honestly it caused more problems than needed since I do most everything through activesync dialog on the PC. but it was a one time thing not schedule or anything else. I noticed the biggest lag on textinig not in the first few hours but later in the day when I had tried 5 or 6 themes that had not worked with other cooked roms, ultimately I dropped them all and went back to the stock TF3D that conflipper provided with the ROM. But the issue started with those themes and got prgresively worse as the day went on. After switching back to the base theme. it's gone or almost completely gone.

Why do some themes cause such a huge performace degradation? Some of them screeched my device to a halt, other merely slowed it down to some annoying level but really the stock them or NO TF3D seem to be the best. I've grown to like the tF3d but would really like a nice black version similar to the HTC black that is around but it is SO SLOW. weird thing is the now unavailible juicy rom had that theme and it was screaming fast. but it had no MMS so I dumped it.

Re: 1/21/09 Conflippers Alltel Touch Pro ROM (5.2.20759 Build 20759) UC

I have a few ideas for the keyboard lag, i have never seen it, but then again i do not use my touch pro a lot. so that might have been why. I have a few ideas that i will play with and that should help it a lot.

wm 6.5 needs a lot of work at this time. it will be a few days before it is ready for anything. the thing with 6.5 at this time, is that customization does not run at all. so it works but you need to set up stuff manually. so it is a little bit of a pain. I am looking into it though. Those screen shots are not the way it looks at all.

It is my belief that MS was going to focus more on the speed of everything with this release, the UI looks the same, and the sliding panels that we saw in the first shows from the Blue angel, they do not work on VGA deveice, they were from the HTC rose. microsoft has it back in that device last novemeber. It had the sliding panels, but it was 131 dpi, so unlike the QVGA that is 96 dpi, or the VGA that is 192 dpi. That is where the slidng panles came into place though.

I will work on the Keyboard lag and see what i can find out with it. Thanks everyone for letting me know about it.

Hey Con, do you by chance have the stock ROM ready to flash but without all the Alltel crap in it?

like:
Alltel shop
city id
games and more
get alltel navagation
get email
get pocket express
getting started

I am actually OK with the stock ROM or at least until all the bugs have been removed, but don't want all the bloatware.
