Don't go to any trouble, I just thought you might have one already as a starting point for your ROMs. I am trying to work up the courage to flash your current version. I do appreciate to offer though. Very kind of you.

I have the texting lag and it's intermittent, always there but worse at some times. I never use PIM backup. I always activesync but with this ROM flash I tried it and honestly it caused more problems than needed since I do most everything through activesync dialog on the PC. but it was a one time thing not schedule or anything else. I noticed the biggest lag on textinig not in the first few hours but later in the day when I had tried 5 or 6 themes that had not worked with other cooked roms, ultimately I dropped them all and went back to the stock TF3D that conflipper provided with the ROM. But the issue started with those themes and got prgresively worse as the day went on. After switching back to the base theme. it's gone or almost completely gone.

Why do some themes cause such a huge performace degradation? Some of them screeched my device to a halt, other merely slowed it down to some annoying level but really the stock them or NO TF3D seem to be the best. I've grown to like the tF3d but would really like a nice black version similar to the HTC black that is around but it is SO SLOW. weird thing is the now unavailible juicy rom had that theme and it was screaming fast. but it had no MMS so I dumped it.
i know what you are talking about, i've noticed the same thing, but for me there is still a lag with stock rom, not that big of one but there is still a noticeable lag.. i think htc needs to release an alltel update soon to fix a few problems

Is there an easy fix?
This is the problem I've noticed with this build as well. It would be nice to have those old ringers back. Otherwise, this has been a very fast ROM for me. I do like the new phone app too (sliding to answer or ignore). I'll post back if I come across anything else that's out of the ordinary.

Re: 1/21/09 Conflippers Alltel Touch Pro ROM (5.2.20759 Build 20759) UC

Quick Dialer question.

I have been struggling with poor poor poor battery performance. I am just going to buy the extended battery from seidio and move on buy I also decided to tackle the ring delay. So I changed my slot cycle delay and that improved me by almost a ring. then I dropped the dialer skin which now has me basically somewhere between 0.5 to 1 ring now and incredibly responsive.

BUT, now I lose the all too cool slide to answer that Conflipper added to this last ROM. I love it. Is there a way to have both? The quick ring and the slider?

I figure Con may have the answer to this. with the slider I am at 2-2.5 rings on the callers side (the first I hear is usually a false ring that only signals connection) so still not unreasonable but I'd love the responsiveness of both.

any ideas?

one more question. I also realized that the skin dialer also houses the in-call status information. so, I have been in search of a way to modify the calendar button in the call status screen to match the program that I use. is there a way to do this?

I used advanced config then under PHONE the first choice is Phone Skin: enabled (advised)

Change this to Disabled (defaullt)

soft reset and then you get the default skin which I kinda like honestly but you lose text/ignore and you lose photo notify next to the call timer (which I don't use) and you lose the calendar button that I'd like to use. but for me those two changes made HUGE differences in my ring time.

As for the ringers missing off this rom I packaged the ringers from the previous rom and uploaded them for anyone who wants them, just drop them in your windows directory overwriting the existing windows/rings directory

hope this helps someone

Shawn

I don't see this "I used advanced config then under PHONE the first choice is Phone Skin: enabled (advised) " , is there another program I need to to disable to TF3D dialer?

Thumbs up Re: 1/21/09 Conflippers Alltel Touch Pro ROM (5.2.20759 Build 20759) UC

Con, Thanks for the ROMs, you so totally ROCK!!
Question though, If I need to go back to Alltel's default ROM do you have a ROM and relocker for that? (Warranty work)
Also on your Media Fire site, do you have an easy way to help me understand what all the .rar and .cab files do? I'm obviously new at this, but love my Touch Pro.
