gguruusa: how did you get the different Splash Screens? why does your builderOS look different? (background)

Since the TP has the extra needed RAM what is the best setting for PagePool size?

i manually added the sprint splash screen and the correct WM6.1 pic after i flashed. the sprint gif is not included in the kitchen but i copied it from my stock rom.

HTC Youtube works fine. Never had a problem with it. Also the battery levels show 1% increments fine too. (now if I could only increase battery life, that would be a trick)

I'm not sure if that helps but #1 and #3 definitely work on my TP.

I just did a completely new kitchen install along with the mandatory update. I started with a 20931 base and selected ONLY YouTube... default images, flashed the rom, open YouTube, error: not signed or missing components.

WTF?

I don't know if it's a signing problem or just a missing file (exe is there). I've tried 4-5 other installations (ranging from straight VGA, Diamond dump, YouTube QVGA + VGA skin, ghetto patching, and even a French one which works great except that the sound doesn't work). I tried cooking a very simple rom with just YouTube selected and still got the same error, as well as in built 20924 and 20755 (no change).

I know youtube works, so either you didn't build in a needed component (or we haven't forced it in), or we haven't pushed a fix yet.

4. Startup animation doesn't work unless its OEM is selected ("Startup Animation" in BOOT OPTIONS). This is the first time I've changed the animation because the Sprint one is actually a 320x240 GIF expanded to 640x480 --> grainy. Leaving it at 'Default' still overwrites the animation on the phone. The result is a black screen instead of an animation + a system error beep (for file not found I assume).
That's the way it works. Startup animation is an optional .dll that plays an animation file. There shouldn't be a <default> selection for animation - we'll fix that.

Theres a library of splash screens - check the view menu.
My background looks different because I ride the short bus.

There isn't a one size fits all answer. Pick something reasonable, run with it.

Thanks for your help! I've talked to one person who insists it works (plus you) and maybe 3-4 who are having the same problem as me.

Here's the latest discussion about the iffy YouTube OEM in the latest kitchen: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=49296&page=2

I've tried all 3 builds as a base, with and without other crap, and even with only the YouTube_VGA OEM .. all give the same error. As do the 3 or so cabs I've tried installing on various roms cooked in the kitchen.

How can one be sure whether it's a missing file or lack of persmission/certificate/signing? I get the same error with HTC Audio Manager in this kitchen BTW.

Ok, what is something "reasonable" or is it best to leave it default?

Use the "Mark as read" right softkey menu choice.

I found this to be really helpful with my unread message issues.

I use 931 base and under PIM > Inbox Menu Extensibility (Mark All As Read/Delete All)

I'll see if I can track it down. Hopefully it is still saved from my last configuration. Send me a PM and I'll send it to you if I find it.

Just a wild guess but it seems like you might need some other component - maybe Flash?

I've tried it with at least one "Flash" (there are so many so I can't say for sure). I just thought of potential dependencies also.. if youre so inclined, check out the discussion at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...d=1#post584002

I would love to try your selections file and see if it helps narrow things down.

YouTube will not start up unless HTC TouchFlo is installed. If TouchFlo is not installed, you will get the "not signed or component not found" error.

**nevermind** about the Christmas icons. decided to reflash anyway! :)

But I do have 2 items:
1-I donated but still get the donation screen running the kitchen. Do I need to update for that to go away?
2-I'm having the same problem now the TP and this kitchen as I did with the Mogul. Using memmaid I delete the repellog file to stop activesync from starting on its own yet it conts to start on its own and I need to do the reg edit. This started with the last couple of builds of the kitchen.

Hi all,

I've been gone a while since my days with the Apache, but I got a new Touch Pro recently and have a couple of issues to report against the current kitchen.

-I'm was getting the error "The file "albumnsearcher.exe" cannot be opened..." from TouchFlo 3d's "Pictures and Videos" tab. I think that was due to not installing the "HTC Album_InternalStorage" OEM, so it seems like a dependency between the Manila options and HTC Album may need to be set up.

-Quickmenu seems to have some incompatibilities with TouchFlo 3d. Specifically a number of the "Settings" panes fail to dusplay when selected from it's settings menu. Turning off Touchflo 3d resolves the issue. We may want to restrict the selection of both Quickmenu and Manila at the same time, or at least add a note to the Quickmenu install regarding this issue. Not really sure, as most of Quickmenu does seem to work.

-"Background on all tabs" isn't working. After changing the home page background I still have the default background in my non-home tabs.

I also had a question...

I don't think there's an "extended ROM" on the Touch Pro as I remember from the Apache. However, after my initial boot up with a new ROM I am getting a round of carrier customizations installed. Where are these coming from, are they part of selecting a "Carrier" in the kitchen? I ask, as I hate getting the Verizon animated boot screen stuck in after each flash.

I concur on points 1 and 3 but no problems with manila and QM. I am having a problem though with manila and the wallpaper cab. after installing the manila clock goes to 0:00, before installing shows fine, uninstalling shows fine. small clock shows fine in all scenarios.

Where does the Herman's .NBH file end up in Kitchen's folders? I can't seem to find it and the RUU isn't getting me past 0% so I need to manual update. Never had this issue with the Titan/Touch as I was able to find their NBHs.

Hey all, I have a ?. Which setting in the kitchen causes the clicking sound when you scroll? I need to make sure that one is off, or at least know there the option is to turn it off if it is tied in with other sounds.

that's the thing, i don't see it in my programs or settings. maybe i am blind. i am 100% sure i didn't do the menu sounds though. that option and i aren't friends either.

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen

hmmm, sorry can't help then. I could be wrong but it's either menu sounds (under sounds in the kitchen and can't be turned off after building) or on the phone under touchflo settings. maybe someone else knows more.

Sorry I'm not sure why dialers aren't installing for you nursemm05. I think the "Raphael Black Dialer" is the "Black Manila Dialer" already in the Kitchen, but I could be wrong on that.

I am seeing an issue with the "Black Manila Dialer". It seems the "Call History" and "Calendar" buttons shown during a call are not being updated appropriately. The ones from "Diamond/Raphael Dialer White" seem to be showing up instead.

I had the same issue if you create "240x320" and "320x320" folders in the "SplashImages" and "Animations" folders of the kitchen it seems to resolve the issue. Not sure why these aren't created OOTB yet.
