JD, i dont know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but your rom says remote desktop is included, but it was no where to be found when i flashed mine. I had to download a cab of it.

Hey JD or anyone on here for that matter
I am a lil new here. My T.P. is unlocked with 3.5. My question is, is this an auto run rom like it would be to unlock or how do i go abouts running this i have a herman ruu downloaded but dont know if i need it.
i have done a minor search before i left for texas and couldnt really find anything specific for it other than a how to flash a rom post which didnt lead me to anything
thanks in advance...
the other option which would be a sd card load but i am not to sure on how to do that either...
Thanks in advance

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

Assuming you are unlocked:
Download, extract, connect via active sync, run ROMUpdateUtility.exe, done

hope this helps

He spells it all out here.

Unzip the ruu.zip file to a folder
Drop the ROM you want to use there.
Do an ActiveSync
Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Follow instructions

Just like doing the unlock.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE UNLOCKED!!!

Also, the $7 per month Sprint insurance can't be beat! If you don't have it, call *2 and order it before messing with the phone. Since you order on the phone, they know the phone works when you setup the insurance!

JD, have you found a solution for the scrolling through email bug? Where if you are in an inbox, and you flick to scroll, then tap to stop the scrolling, it actually goes in to your Text Messages inbox instead of stopping the scroll. If that worked, I think I would actually not flash for a couple days :).

Make sure you hard reset the phone after installing the ROM. With the phone power off, hold down the center d-pad key, volume down and power key.

Loving the the rom so far. I have run into one small bug with the camera. Occasionally the screen does not appear to initialize. It shows the camera icon then the screen stays blank. Interestingly the camera will still capture an image.

Gotcha. Just seems like 6.5.2 gives a few more options but the older one still works

Thanks for the link. I am having problems. When I go into bootloader mode the cpu will not establish a activesync connection. Io tried the microsd method, but I am not prompted to install/flash the new rom. I have checked the proper directories for the microsd and also placed the new rom in the RUU folder on desktop. Also tried to reboot my PC and my TP. Any advice?

edit: Here is what RUU says when I try to do it. ERROR: 204 FILE OPEN. Hope that helps.

If you have the .nbh file in the root of your SD directory and name it RAPHIMG.nbh, then enter the bootloader it should ask you if you want to flash...

Re: JD's ROM

It is named RAPHIMG.nbh. I put it in \storage.

Hopefully that is correct. Is there any way to get out of tri color mode? I have to take the battery out to reset the device since it seems stuck.

This is the screen it gets stuck on:

Make sure that its directly on the first page of your sd card, it has to be by itself without putting it in any folder.

What program did you use to edit the name? If it isn't showing the extension before you rename it then make sure you don't add the extension while renaming it.

ie. if the extension wasnt on there in the first place (ruu_signed) then dont add it when you change the name (RAPHIMG.nbh)because it might be there twice, once in the name and then again as the extension RAPHIMG.nbh.nbg

I hope this makes sense...and good luck one getting it to flash. But read the stickies because i think there were other people with the same problem the other day, but not for sure.

Sorry for being a noob again but how to do I format the card to the correct format? The only way that I have access to the card is by having it in the phone. I do not have a card reader.

I didnt use any program. When I double click the name it showed up as RUU_signed.nbh and I changed it to RAPHIMG.nbh. I never had to add the extension. I didn't know you needed a program to rename files....

Ok go into the storage card again, and right click on the file, and then click Rename from the pop up menu now put in RAPHIMG.nbh now once youve done that just press Enter, and it should save the name, now unplug your phone from the computer, and hold down the botton volume button, and power button at the same time, then press the reset button on the bottom of the phone with your stylus, now after the phone powers on it should take you to a white screen with some directions, now just press the power botton, and it should load from there.

Wow. Didn't know about that button on the bottom of phone. I did that but it is not giving me any options. it just goes to the tri color screen.

edit: I did notice that before it went to the tri color screen ti flashed some text REALLY fast. Maybe it said file not found or something. I made sure to put the RAPHIMG file in the correct directory and renamed it properly also so I do not know what is going on. How do I know what my card is formatted to and does it make a difference?

hmm, did you extract the file after you downloaded it before you put it on the card, or did you just download, and then just put the file on your card.

Downloaded the .rar file. Extracted it to desktop. Copy and placed it into the /storage directory on the phone.

Anyone notice a bug with Sprint Navigation using this rom? For some reason, when I try to use the "Speak It" feature with Sprint Navigation, I don't get the operator that asks me the address and the destination and all that. It just hangs up right away and syncs up to my home address. I never had an issue when I was using the stock rom so I was wondering is anyone else having this issue?
