Re: [ROM][WWE][09/13/10] swinnROM 6.5.x 23563/23138/21914 [KITCHEN][CLEAN]

2 major issues that are going to make switch roms, again, unfortunate because I really like this one.

1) Test messages show on the front screen and then they are completely gone. Nothing in SMS, no way to ever see what the whole message was just get to see it briefly and when you tap it its gone forever

2) The round light (main button) beeps flashing no matter what, nothing is new and i've turned off light notification everywhere. Just the same thing over and over.

Hmm well that's what I use myself. Have you installed any additional packages (such as HTC Notifications)?

I don't know what to tell you. I've never seen either issue and if I had it would be extremely annoying.

I would try doing Task 29 and reflashing again. If that makes no difference then install Arcsoft MMS from post 2 and see if that changes anything.

Anyone else seen or heard about a problem such as this?

Yeah I task 29'ed same issue. The light will turn off for awhile, then when it gets stuck in its loop a reset will take care of it for another short time.

Text messages still go away though, I think I'm finally done with this phone. Thanks for your help though.

If you set up GMail to use EAS then ActiveSync has to be running since that's how it syncs. If you don't want ActiveSync to run then delete the EAS GMail and set it up as IMAP instead, but you won't be able to sync contacts and the calendar.

Re: [ROM][WWE][09/13/10] swinnROM 6.5.x 23563/23138/21914 [KITCHEN][CLEAN]

Hello. I just flashed the ROM (for 6.5.5) and I am very impressed with the "Just as Microsoft Intended" approach. Major props to you for getting all of the notification windows to be the same! Just as MS intended (cause between HTC Sense, some MMS app, and WinMo, different notificatino popups annoying me!)

I've been using a few custom ROMs, but they all seem to go overboard and such. Thank you for this!

(enough brown-nosing)

My data connection indicators (the two left/right arrows in the header area) are always on with this ROM when the screen is on. If i turn the screen off (power button), wait a moment and turn the screen on again, I notice that the arrows are off - and then they appear again.

Is this eating my battery?

I also attempted to install the Automatic_Data_Disconnect, rebooted, but it still acts the same way.

Lastly, when I receive an MMS (a text w/pictures/videos embedded), I get a notification popup that says:

Quote:
Connect: In order to send/download MM messages, the current active connectino may be closed (this may affect other applications in use). Do you want to continue?
And I am prompted with Hide/Menu (Yes/No) options. Clicking Yes doesn't do anything, and the notification remains. But, if I turn off the screen (power off), this kills whatever active data connection there was - and the MMS is immediately downloaded!

If this is not normal, could you help?
