It's not like that at all dimensi0n. OMJ is probably the coolest chef out there. Do me a favor. Flash 1.7 and compare it synergy. I want to hear what you think about both side by side. I'm on 1.7 and I've flashed pretty much all of the mikg's up to this point. It's the cleanest, fastest bug free rom to date.

I'll have to cancel my BB pre-order as well.

I pre-orderd @ BB, I wouldn't think there would be anything to cancel. Your name is just on a list, and u bought a gift card. I wasn't gonna cancel....just in case

it's all good man...there are alot of excellent devs out there, I stick w/ amikam cuz I know his work, and have been working w/ him since the diamond. His re-engineering actually cleans up alot of the useless code from HTC.

You may want to talk to amikam about that. I think he/she is involved with the project also. Today's Synergy changelog noted this "Fixed force close when using effects in HTC Album. (Huge thanks to aamikam for your help)"

not sure if he is part of the project, but most devs are always willing to help another out.....I suspect one of them came to amikam for help.....he knows his shit. but this goes both ways, alot of times one dev figured out one thing and another figures out another issue, then they share......this is what it's all about!

personally I don't like to rely on other ppls work, but I can't ignore the work amikam has done w/ his base

hey shatner. Just tested and my camera works great as does my vid. What are you using for recovery? These roms generally do much better with amon_ra. You have to do a complete wipe of everything (except for the SD Card). I usually wipe everything twice for good measure. Then when you restore stuff, only restore apps. Do not restore any of your old settings. Start from scratch and set everything up the way you want it.

Sorry if you do this already. I just know that most bugs are because people aren't wiping correctly or they are using clockwork mod for recovery. Hope this helps.

Hey guys, as you probably know there are several Sense skins that can be downloaded in this rom (Menu, personalize, skin, get more). Also from the link provided, I tried a few and so far they work with no issues. Apologize if it was already posted but figured it was worth reiterating these are working on OMJ 1.7: [SKIN][Tutorial][17.05.2011] Skins for HTC Sense 2.0 roms & Framework mods. - xda-developers

These skins with this rom are a great fit :)

edit: btw, the desire hd skins seem to work pretty well. the thunderbolt ones made by users (post 2 or 3) did not show up so they dont work.

Alright, just got my first FC on the camera. No biggie. Here's what I did to correct it. Go to applications and clear the app data for the camera and restart. Seems to be working fine now.

Edit: oh and reboot your phone after for good measure.

There is something wrong with wifi in this rom it keeps trying to connect and then disconnects it goes in a cycle I have tried reflashing about four times but the same thing happens. I have even tried static ip that does not help either.

Any help would be appreciated

Forgive me for sounding dumb but I just got a new job that has me working for like 60 hrs a week so I have been way out of the loop.

Are these latest ROMs built off of an official sprint release or are they still using ported roms?

I use wifi almost the entire day and I havent had any issues on any of the updates.

I know its been said here a million times but make sure youre using amonra recovery to wipe data/cache. I always used clockwork mod and started having problems and instability. Used amonra and all has been great.

Also, I noticed that restoring settings after flash seemed to screw some things up. Try reflashing, wiping with amonra and restoring apps but not settings.

back to 1.6, the new 1.7 gave me nothing but problems, dont know why cause i did a full wipe like i always do but wow was it lagging and alot of force closes on apps like pandora and iheartradio, also for the first time experienced htc sence force close causing my evo to restart on its own, hopefully all bugs can be worked out for next update in the meantime i will continue using 1.6 so thanks omj for your work but thought you should know of my issues.....oh and by the way just wanna mention that 1.6 has everything working for me and has been great and smooth and fast thanks again

Both my evo's on 1.7 are running perfectly. Do you use amon_ra to wipe?

yes i did always perform wipes and i use amon_ra because i have found it to be the best one when doing wipes and flashing, maybe its because of me using tb and restoring my apps with settings, i will try again over the weekend and just restore apps without settings, but at least i know someone is not having issues like i did....thanks for the reply

dcharleyultra 06-08-2011 09:25 PM

How are you actually wiping?

Are you restoring system data with TB?

Just flashed 1.7. Nice and smooth as usual. :)

One thing though - the stock messaging app still doesn't have all the same features and settings as it did in 1.5, such as a saved messages cap. I don't know why they are different but I liked whatever was in 1.5 better. I tried backing up and restoring via Titanium with no luck. Any way to restore that version of Messaging to use with this rom?

I found a little glitch, After flashing the brightness went to max, but I can easily change it to Automatic. It works ok, BUT if I reboot the phone, it goes back to max..... so it is not saving the setting.....

I think it's still the evo shift port. Ammikam finally came up with a kernel to fix the brightness bug. It's the best Rom yet. Give it a go.

still based on the ported EVO SHIFT, the official sprint release had an older version of sense

Well actually the kernel is from the official release...the official release came w/ updated drivers for wimax & wifi, amikam just bundled the libs w/ the kernel so they'd work

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 6/7/11*

I too had that brightness bug once. Ten minutes later it was followed by a nasty issue i've now had happen twice. On reboot of the phone, I got stuck in a rapid bootloop with a small sprint logo. The only fix was to reflash the rom. Happened out of the blue both times. The old tricks (wiping cache/dalvik)(reflashing kernel)... none of them worked.

I have noticed issues restoring apps + data using my backup root so I tried something different on this recent flash. I restored the apps but not the data. I then rebooted into recovery and did the fix apk mismatch bit and booted. At that point I restored data on the ones i needed it back on and had no issues with them.

I can't pinpoint the brightness bug but when it happend I was in a dark car and took a call and noticed the screen at full brightness. As soon as i got off the call i checked brightness settings and auto was unchecked and at max.

One other quick question.. how easy is it to customize that IME keyboard?

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 6/7/11*

Yeah, I've had the brightness switch to max all the sudden as well. It's only happened a couple of times and it's not a big deal to reset it. Still much better than being at 100% 24/7.

Attaching photos in the stock messenger (mms) is also hit or miss. I have to go to the gallery and select the photo in order for it to compress. I was having the same issues on MikG's 1.03 as are many over on xda. Again, small problems. Still the best ROM avl.

OMJ,

In case you decide to... DC13 put out an optimized stock base of the OTA. I'm about to try it and I'll let ya know how it is if you want?

It is here...
6-7-11 Ti-X EVOLUTION GingerBread Sense Based 4.22.651.2 - xda-developers

I'm gonna have to run this b/c of my Golf Logix app due to the speedy ports conflicting with it :(
