On another note: does anyone know if theres a setting to silence calls/notifications short of ignoring the call. When I get a call, normally Id be able to press the volume down button to silence it but thats not working for me on this rom. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed it? Also, with regardless to apps on the sd card... When I restart the phone it takes the apps on the card a very long time to load. Is that just a quirk with using tb to move apps to the sd card? Its not really an issue except that when using the lock screen with app icons the icons that are on the sd card disappears and I have to manually reload them. |

I am having also an issue with messaging... It does not receive all SMS (but at least, I can get them on google voice), and no MMS at all...
Is there something I need to configure to get the messaging app to work correctly? |

Ok, my fault, I can receive SMS (it was google voice that somehow got stuck and did not send me messages to my phone, reset the settings and now it works), BUT I still cannot SEND MMS.... |

Love the ROM OMJ! Anyone else having occasional audio dropouts when using Audio over Bluetooth? I only run OMJ roms, and this is a new bug since moving to the Gingersense builds.

Thanks OMJ. I am loving this ROM so far. It is so smooth. Battery seems good under normal load, but Is anyone noticing that GPS nav burns through battery? It seems like it is doing it worse than before, though it may just be me. I felt like I was losing a percentage every couple of minutes.

ok maybe this was covered before but tl:dr
are the transparent drop down curtain switchs still included in this rom like the froyo ones had? and is the 4g/airplane mode issues that existed with them before fixed if they are still included? thanks |
Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 6/7/11*
Love the rom. I'm running an older version and having no problems. Only issue that is making me want to upgrade is the brightness fix.
Any idea if the brightness fix is still in the cards? Thanks for all your work! |

Also, about google nav, mine is also draining battery pretty quickly, and it takes about 2 minutes minimum to get a lock on my location. Battery drain isnt a huge issue because I almost always charge my phone when in the car anyway but the gps lock times is a little crazy. |

Hey Mazzakre. I tested this out when I got a call tonight. My vol up/down silenced the phone just fine. Not sure what is up with yours.

Ok, after going through a bunch of forums I got mine to work. First thing I did was go into ROM Manager and fixed permissions then rebooted. Try that, if that doesnt work then also try Use root explorer, and make sure it is set to R/W mode (read/write). Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db and delete that file, then restart your phone. After the restart, you should be able to send and receive MMS messages. I did both and now I can send and receive on my phone and my wifes phone. She is running OMJ 2.3.3 and Im running MikRom 1.03. |
Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 6/7/11*
MAN.....I'm having major problems with that 1.7.!
After I flash the rom it tries to load sense.....but nothing shows up....just an empty screen. Then when I try to touch anything these messages keep pooping up telling me that the market won't open...but I never tried to open the market. The same message pops up for swype and something called Sprint Installer too! Never says anything about sense but when I try to add widgets to the home screen and such that's all I get!!!!!! Another BIG thing is when I'm trying to use the web browser, after loading the page the browser closes.....does that every time. When I have it set to "mobile view" it doesn't happen but when I have it set to "Desktop view" I can never use it! Also.....every hour on the hour this stupid voicemail icon keeps popping up.....even if I call my voicemail and go thru everything it says I still get the notification....and I have to go into the settings to clear it! I had the 2.3.3 1.7 going for like....a day.....then I restarted my phone and now this is happening. I can't get the rom to work at all now! I would go back to an older version of the 2.3.3 rom OMJ put out but they're too plain....and no "Footprints" app! Any Ideas....anybody?!?!?!?! |

Ok, I think I know what triggers the brightness bug!!!!
Normally it stays in automatic brightness, but as soon as you use your camera, the brightness is set to maximum, and you have to manually go to the settings brightness, etc to put it back in automatic.... |

Great Rom! I noticed that I don't have 3G network symbol on my phone. It shows up as 1x. Is there a way to fix that? OMJ...Great Job on the Roms!

VR_SUPERWIPE which will clean you out completely. I run that before every ROM flash. After that flash OMJ's latest and greatest. btw-you want to do a nand backup before you start wiping just so you have something to fall back to should things go awry. It's an option in recovery. For recovery if you aren't on amon, I suggest you switch to that. It's better than CWM imo. Quote:

Ok, so you have solved my issue last night with my camera. I was trying to use it as a backup for a wedding until I got batteries to swap out of my Canon. I tried using it in low light and got a FC 4 separate times. Not just a FC but a complete reboot. I see your post and tried using the camera and sure enough the brightness shot up. This didnt just happe to my camera on the Evo, also happened to my wife's too. We are both rooted, she is on OMJ and Im on MikRom so IDK if its Miks issue or a GB issue. |

Like jstn said, update PRL then Profile and see if it helps. Profile is more related to Data but ensuring your PRL is up to date can't hurt. |

Does anyone else experience low music volume when using a Seidio car dock? I use the audio jack to listen to music in my car. As soon as I place my phone in the dock, the volume goes down about 40%. I've never experienced this using any other rom.

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 6/7/11*
So is the brightness bug with the camera app issue resolved or can it only be resolved with an update to the rom?

Battery life? Is anybody experiencing a battery drain? Mine is fine for phone calls and standby but as soon as I start surfing, taking photos, showing photos, I can see the battery percentage thingy go down 5% in just a few web pages or photos.
