Someone just posted a flashable landscape rosie on the misfit thread. Might have to try it on this rom tomorrow if people have luck with it over there.

EDIT.... i just realized the note on the OP about checking the theme's/mods section for the landscape rosie meant on mik's forums. I loaded that one and now have working landscape.

Is the brightness bug what is murdering my battery? Wow... I drop about 10% an hour with the phone off most of the time.

Hopefully its released soon, I flashed this rom and it ate my battery in a matter of minutes and my phone got really hot.

The brightness bug isn't that bad fellas. I've been running the ginger sense ROM's since they came out and my battery isn't any worse than it was before. The new features in these new ports make it worth it. Get an extended battery and enjoy!

Does the Shift port include landscape homescreen ?

OMJ, thanks for all the great work. Any update on a resolution to the screen brightness issue? It's killing my battery life.

I have installed Screen Filter, but although it dims the appearance of the screen, it does not seem to help with battery life.

Other than that, love the rom!

I was reading a site about a possible netflix fix, and discovered something....

u can use ES File Explorer to mount /data & /system

after opening ES filer explorer, menu, settings, root options, check the 1st box, I selected HiAPK ROM...I would assume you would only check the 2nd box if u needed write access.

the brightness bug wont be fixed until HTC releases the source code for the GB kernel.....so until that happens, we just got to deal w/ it (including me).....personally, I don't think the battery drain is all that bad.

Hey OMJ I wanted to thank you for giving us this awesome ROM! I love it!

The only thing I cant get to work is the speech-to-text. Every time I try to use it the microphone does not show any activity as if it were hearing my voice and it just stays there as if I was not talking at all. Let me know if there is a fix for this or if its something I will need to deal with for now. Other than that everything runs perfect.

Thanks again!

OMJ did that Netflix fix work for you? I haven't updated to the latest GB ROM yet. I did try that fix and it still won't play the movies. It just kicks me out. Works perfect on my wifes stock EVO. I will probably update ROM tomorrow. Thanks for all your work!

I wouldn't recommend it. Two different ports. I wipe no matter what on every new ROM flash. Why take the risk of screwing something up?

Hi Uofajac,
Thank you for your answer.

I used TB to restore all apps from a Froyo rom AND the following which surprised me since I went Froyo-GB...

Text and MMS
Call log/history
Bookmarks
Wireless Access Points

Did NOT attempt any settings from TB nor the Desktop

I'm still using OMJ_EVO_2.3.3_Gingerbread_v5.0_odexed-signed.zip - I haven't updated to v1.3 because this one actually has 4G running for me. This screen brightness really is killing my battery, I use both my 3500mah batteries to last a day. Sound about right? (I use the hell out of my phone) - I used to last 1.5 days on two batteries on froyo

I installed the newest GB version and when i try to open the sense 3.0 lockscreen.apk it says it is an invalid file and says cannot open file when i click on it?? i have tried downloading it multiple times.

Edit: file would not open by clicking on it from internet->settings downloads
Used ES File explorer to open the apk and it worked fine.

I wonder what the difference is between this apk and just going to Settings/Display and checking the box... I had the old lock screen at first and then I went to settings/Disply and click the check box and the new lockscreen worked. Is there a NEWER screen???

OMJ,

Nice Rom... Thanks

OK what am I missing? I downloaded the latest GB ROM. Put it in the root of my sd card. Clicked on it to install and it wants me to open either es file explorer or rom manager. I go with rom manager and then it asks for pre-installation checks *Backup Existing ROM, Wipe Data and Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache I select all three* then it just seems to sit there. How do I know it's doing anything? I don't remember it being this much trouble the last time I flashed.

Nice! I was just moved to a building that doesn't exactly have internet yet. So I've been tethering my 4G the entire day. My laptop has Clear WiMAX built in, but I have other devices that need internet.

The way to flash roms hasn't changed b4u2. You should read up on how to do it. Wouldn't want you to brick your phone.

Use amon ra recovery. You can get it in the ROM Manager app. Just flash alternate recovery. To flash the rom, you power down your phone. Press vol down and power at the same time. select recovery. wipe, data factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache. return and select zip file. select the zip file on your sd card and go.

Nice rom, love Sense 2.1, 4G works very nicely, but I have a few other issues. Sorry if these are posted already but I didn't see them:

1) Some apps immediately force-close on boot. Example: ShootMe. I haven't had this issue on any other ROM. Is this a Sense 2.1 compatibility thing? The built-in Weather app sometimes force-closes and sometimes works.

2) Stock messaging app no longer has an option to limit the number of saved messages. I used to have mine set at 200, now they just keep piling up.

3) System clock will randomly run fast, even though it is set to sync with the network. I'll let it run for awhile, then look and it will be like 9-10 minutes fast. If I go to Date and Time settings, uncheck Automatic, then check it again it corrects itself. Then sometimes it will get fast again, sometimes it won't. Seems to be at random.

Any thoughts?

CM7 is a GB build. I know one of the nightlies fixed the screen brighness issue with EVO's...I had to go back to CM7 for now because of the screen brightness took out my 1500 and 3500 battery yesterday with light use in under 6 hours. I love the ROM OMJ, but just cannot have my battery draining that quickly. If I find out what was fixed on the CM7 nightly I will post it here...maybe its something simple...maybe not. Cause OMJ GB rom was a lot more stable than my CM7 has been.

my $0.02 worth.

IDK if anyone has posted this so I apologize if it has been but one thing I have noticed on my phone and my wifes that are running OMJ 2.3.3 is that day by day its taking the phone longer to get to the home screen from different apps. The home screen is taking a long time to load and after a fresh flash its fine but soon it gets to the point that its a couple seconds to even get to the home screen.

I have used the cashe cleaner program and that doesnt help. Any suggestions?

Uninstalled the market, downloaded the apk and reinstalled. Everything is working fine. Only thing I get on occassion is a Google search force close. It just kind of randomly pops up. More than likely has to do with me not hard resetting after updating. Its minor, and doesn't bother me, other than that everything is PERFECT. Thank you again OMJ

Sorry guys, disregard last. The issue was with my Overclock widget not going back to 1Ghz after using a program. Its was clocking at 245k then when it went back it was fine.
