I am showing 3.30.651.2 OTA on mine. Image from post #1 also shows .2 - not .3.

The 3.30.651.3 is not actually a full ROM (hence why the OTA update only is less than 7 MB). So technically this is still the 3.30.651.2 with a different kernel.

As long as you have the HTC#17 kernel, you are on the new OTA. 3.30.651.2 had HTC kernel #10.

Besides, a simple edit of the build.prop file and I can claim I am running Android 3.1 if I want

Hope this helps but I am certain this is the new OTA I was actually kind of mad, I had this built over a period of 2 weeks, then on Thursday the new OTA was made available. I built this in an afternoon but am glad I was at least able to incorporate the new OTA.

Ok here is where I am at with this Rom... it is working flawless... but I think azrael Rom was faster. I also miss the transitions of the azrael Rom.... and also I have Sprint navigation that wasnt taken out... not a big deal but first post says it was taken out and it is in the Rom...

So that's my short review... thanks.. azrael is still my favorite as of now because of speed and transitions...

As for Azrael being faster, maybe the new HTC kernel #17 is slower (on your phone) than HTC #10 was? For me, Omega is slightly faster. Especially with Netarchy's kernel. There is a few more optimizations done with Omega than I did with Azrael.

As for transitions, I decide not to include them with the ROM stock. Tomorrow I am going to bring more options; different transition animations (including same included with Azrael), more wallpapers, and maybe another theme or so. Rosie and clock options...you name it. You can basically make Omega look the way you want. A lot of people complained about the transitions on XDA so I decided to not include them.

which Netarchy kernel is the fastest for you… bfs 4.2.1, cfs 4.2.1, or 4.2?

Personally, my phone runs best with CFS kernels. I am currently using Netarchy 4.2 CFS with aggressive undervolting with good results. I have not tried the new 4.21 beta though.

My phone has never worked well with BFS kernels. YMMV

The biggest problem for me with netarchy.kernels both cfs and bsf is they don't sleep under 112mA... great batterylife over all, but the kernel won't sleep without a large draw.... I'm on ziggys latest... its working well, it sleeps as low as 40mA... but both are fast on your Rom

Ok all, here is what is up.

Personally, I am getting the browser FC issue as well. Also, I found the new Android Tether is not working.

So here is what I am going to do: OmegaEVO 1.1 will be coming out that has the above fixed. There will be a full ROM and an update file available (for previous users of OmegaEvo 1.0) so you can update to 1.1 and not have to worry about downloading a full ROM and wipe all your stuff. I will be using this "Update" format rather than full ROM releases (except when a new OTA update is coming and there is a need to redo the whole ROM rather than parts of it.)

Also, OmegaEvo 1.1 is going to come theme-free. This way you can change things with themes and mods instead of being "forced" to have stuff (like the black clock, custom rosie, etc.) A lot more theme options and customization options coming in the next couple of days.

The biggest news is Azrael will be back!
From now on, OmegaEVO is intended for phones running 0004 hardware, Azrael is for 0003 and below. In testing, the 3.29 base works FAR better for older EVO phones than the 3.30.651.2 (and 3.30.651.3) base does. There is even a noticeable speed difference and battery drains much faster with the newer OTAS on older Evos.

I am not a fan of 3.30.xxx.x, probably because I do not have a 0004 hardware version. There will be a separate entry on here for both of the ROMS.

OmegaEVO 1.1 will be released later tonight (or tomorrow morning at the latest). Azrael will be ready by tomorrow night.

If you feel the 3.30 OTA is better for your phone, use Omega (but you are wrong if you are using hardware version 0003, 3.29 will be optimal.)

I tested claims that the new OTA improves the camera and camcorder even on older hardware. Running a series of tests (outside, low light, in my room with my cats modeling for me the older OTA actually seemed to take slightly better pictures on my phone. They look a little clearer and flash seems to be spot on, the new OTA flash seemed to wash out a bit. Most of the pictures look identical though.

3.29 has FAR better battery life on my phone too. With the stock kernel, I was able to last 21 hours (light usage, few long calls, texts, some Angry Birds).

3.30.651.3 with the new HTC kernel #17 eats battery life big time, my phone only lasted 10 hours (little less talking, little more Angry Birds, texts, roughly same amount of usage.) Backing up my findings, look at the last 2-3 pages (on XDA not here ) and you are having people complain of battery life issues and such with the new OTA.

That is because it is not made for our phones, made for HW version 0004. Now if you have that version, bet it will work even better than 3.29 did.

OmegaEVO v1.1 released

Ready for download now. For a list of changes please see the first post.

Themes taken down for now, I have to redo them and I will have much more available tonight. I have a lot of work to do so please be patient. The new ROM is working very well I might add! All issues are fixed that have been reported and I found out why it was saying the old ROM (3.30.651.2). I reused the build.prop from my old ROM. Silly mistake but it is just numbers anyhow.
