Pdanet I think is one of them. try the market there are quite a few of the wired tethers. I used to have black berry tether or tetherberry. They recently dropped the berry part and just became tether. They are beta testing their Android tether now. Here is the link

As I said in Post #2577-USB tethering is native to Froyo but apparently has been killed by Sprint. I'm reading it MAY be available to those that pay for the hotspot.

Wireless is cool but a big battery toaster. Wired does allow simultaneous charging so I can see the appeal.

Back to Flashing and stuff... Any1 tried the new netarchy 3.7.7 kernel on the stock OMJ ROM... I just finished getting mine back up to Niceness... I would hate to take it down to Crapness... Camera is at 8mp (no visual effect with 3mp but really 8mp crap) and the Wifi Tether works GREAT...

I see your point. But Life is about LESS CLUTTER.. Take Component cables VS HDMI for instance.

would you prefer Component cables (1 big fat cable with blue, green, red plus a separate Audio cable) or 1 nice chunky, not fat but chunky HDMI cable...

If the phone is running low on juice I just hook it up to the usb cable and keep on tethering wifi... ipods and ipads don't do wired anyways...

nite ppl.

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v2.1 | FroYo 3.26.651.6 | *Updated 8/3/10*

kernel tested-rich-you know me too well.
Flashed it over deodexed ROM, no wipe.
40.099 mflops
54 fps
Camera still 3MP but like you said netarchy didnt mention it.
Some source files for bluetooth were released today so that prolly prompted his update.

EDIT:
There are reports that the latest wireless tether doesnt work with this kernel.
I'm posting right now via the 2.0.5-pre4 version of the app, will test some others....
EDIT2: pre6 works too.
EDIT3: pre7 does not appear to work with this kernel.

I figured you'd be da guy.... I'll keep waiting it out of cleaner kernel.. netarchy mentioned the source being released by HTC soon so hopefully that will help bring "Stability to the Empire"

Later... Thanks for the test run..

The modded kernel will uncap your fps, make the whole system quicker, enable 5 point multi-touch (if you have that the right sensor-netarchy tells you how to check in Post #1 of his thread)
Currently he is using an old kernel as the source kernel as not been released,,,yet.
If you have your camera set to 8MP before you flash the kernel then you will take 8MP pics after but your camera MENU will say it's set to 3MP. Dont mess with the resolution settings and you'll be fine.
.
EDIT:as I said above, the latest wireless tether may not work with the latest kernel but I found a version that worked fine

Awsome. I noticed the 5 point multi touch...

Im going to try flashing the stock kernel then change my MP settings in the camera cause right now the properties in a pic are still the 3MP size.
-but-
Do you know if i just flash the stock kernel the OMJ mentioned earlier or is there something else i need to do???

EDIT:: I see he mentioned to flash the stock ROM kernel then the custom one.

Anyone else having issues wit switching between landscape an portrait mode since up'in to 2.2? Typing or not, I feel like I've lost a great deal of sensitivity. wen it goes into to landscape I hav to pretty much shake my phone to set it back....I'm running the deodex'd version

Edit: nevermind, G-sensor calibration an reboot appears to hav fixed it

Also I'm not a fan of the battery life on this 2.2 compared to Omj ver. 1.9

Sent from Captain Cave man's loft using a carrier pigeon.
