I'm attaching a flashable .zip with the browser.rar file you uploaded with the extension changed back to browser.apk. Boot into recovery and flash the .zip. Let me know if that works out a bit better for you.
Cool thanks! ... just finished restoring my back up so I'll just flash it and see if it works ... if not then I guess I'll just restore again lol

Just tested it myself, same result as you. I see that the filesize of his browser.apk is only about half the size of the regular HTC browser.apk. Not sure why, and I'm just getting ready to head out. I'll take a look later and see what I can see.

Sorry it didn't work.

No problem, appreciate your help! I know his is the AOSP browser so no telling what HTC has done/added to it's version but in order to be able to use all the functions of my company's website I need the AOSP version because it has the option to change the user agent to IE6 and apparently whoever writes our damn website SUCKS!

Grr I deleted wimax notifier because it kept FCing on me (via settings --> applications). Now my phone get past the 4G boot screen. Can't even get into recovery (power + vol down). Any suggestions?

EDIT: did a battery pull then held down power + vol down and booted into recovery and flashed

Thanks!
Everything is in place as far as the Framework-Res.apk goes. Only thing that was missing is the mod in the services.jar file that allows for transparency in the notification tray. The services.jar file is also what's edited to allow for the Disable USB Debugging Notification mod to work.

So, I edited Calkulin's mod (3.29 version) to allow for the notification tray transparency. Just save to SD and flash. It will overwrite the current services.jar file in /system/framework.

=)
