786 hangs on reset-commit changes where I have to pull battery after waiting several minutes. --After reinstall of battery it does the bootloop problem on normal boot. --I can pull battery, boot to recovery, wipe 2x and reboot...still bootloop. --Pull battery again and boot to recovery, wipe 2x, nand restore and reboot...bootloop again. --Best option I've found then is pull battery, back to recovery, wipe 2x, reinstall OMJ V3 from zip and usually it will then boot up normally and go through activation process. I can usually then come back and do nand restore and all is well. Any chance from this sequence you can tell what's happening. Thanks again...Jim Edit: If I want to "eliminate" SD card as possible source of periodic bootloop which is best process: -- Do nand backup+ext, then format sd from within recovery, and restore nand+ext OR -- Format sd from within recovery and copy back sd card files from PC |

Ok major problem here with the evo. It is not connecting to my PC. I have tried different cable, different ports and a different computer and it will only charge the phone. I have noticed now the auto-lauch car panel is always check not and car panel loads when the is first booted. I have tried a different ROM and have also tried to just reflashing. I wipe everything when a reflash. nothing is working. I was going to just unroot the phone and take it in but I can not find a stock rom without .exe extension.
When I plug the phone in I don't even get the choices of "charge only", "disk drive", etc. None of that ever comes up... Any thoughts on what has happened? I am on OMJ 3.0 ROM I have tried Yay Jugg ROM thanks....tannerj |

What exactly are you trying to do? If you are trying to update PRI then just use 3282-that is giving you an activation which is the key to the RPI update-like I said earlier, how you get an activation doesn't matter. If you need 775 for some other reason I'm not sure what the solution might be. That being said if you are faced with the system hanging or boot loops under any circumstance dont try to boot the system after the battery pull. Replace your battery and manually enter Recovery without trying to boot. Then do your wipes. A nand+ext backup is only needed if you have your card partitioned for the apps2SD program. If you dont have a SD card partition then you just need nand. I think you know this but just to be crystal-if you nand-then format you wont have any thing to restore-you card will be wiped. Nand, move everything off of your card, format, then boot your system with a completely blank card. If you boot successfully then put your nand back on your card and restore that. Hope that helps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243 You can get terminal emulator from the Market. Put the files on your card by downloading from xda directly or pull you card an load the files with microSD reader. |

well first I guess I don't like using gmail as my calendar or contacts so I must connect to my PC to update my contacts and calendars. Recently I found away to sync my calendar (outlook) to gmail and so I have stopped syncing my calendar (outlook) to my phone. Second I connect to my pc to move the updated (rom, kernels, themes) over to my phone instead of pulling the battery and removing the sd card. So yes it is worth fixing due to the fact I do not want to continuely pull the battery everytime an updated rom, kernel or theme comes out. I know I can downloads these directly to my phone but I would prefer to do this on my pc then move to my phone. I will try the Nand restore, but I dont think it is going to help me. thanks...tannerj |

If the folder path on your card mimics the one in /system you should be able to see the files. I zipped it up so it went: media>audio-alarms -notifications -ringtones -ui When I tested it on OMJ v3 last night it worked. I know having a Ringtone folder on your card will allow you to access files there so if what I said above doesnt work then try moving the indvidual folders to your card and see if that works. Let me know. |
