(Yeah I have NO idea how that Dude could do a wipe and still have his ish ) EVERY chef says to wipe but you could always be a Test Pilot and just do it without wiping
I dont know WHAT data Sprint was saying wont be erased but I DO know some of the system data from 2.1 wont work on 2.2 so I dont think the data.img is the way to go. Could be wrong.
I used Titanium backup for my apps, no biggie, installed all of them back in a few minutes. Contacts and Calendar are restored with gmail so I was all set.
In the end resetting up the ROM is a small price to pay for a seat on the Test Flight
Fly-On dude... I like you idea... I'll just backup the apps I want/need and then install them back.. Should be a few minutes worth of installing.. And you're right about Gmail... Contacts, Mail and agenda would be intact once you sync with google. =D>

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v2.0 | FroYo | *Updated | 7/31/10*

Just updated to 2.2 and everything seems to be running ok.. Sorta.. I did the v2.0r and did Cache and dalvik cache wipes. No data wipes. (Experimenting)... Everything is loading for now..

Things not working:
CAMERA - Tries to load and Dumps back to Homescreen These are working now??
CAMCORDER - Same as above Working now.. I guess it just had to refresh itself??
Wireless Tether - Loads, appears to be transmitting but NO GO. I haven't updated WIMAX. Maybe that would do something???

I'll edit others as I keep trying out my Apps.. I'm debating if I should do the wimax or not. I don't have 4g in Miami, but not sure if it affects any other issues with 3g or wifi or others??

You should do the wimax but not because it will help Wireless tether.
The new software is designed to work with the latest radios (incl wimax) It's possible to run without them but it can cause issues.
Even without 4G the wimax/radio combo can help 3G and wifi speeds.
The camera not working is a new one afaik. COULD be related to your partial wipe-dunno-welcome to Test Pilot Training Academy

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v2.0 | FroYo | *Updated | 7/31/10*

Back from work.

I can say that 4G works like a charm.

My biggest gripe is all of the streaming radio apps. I know it is not just OMJ's ROM as I also tried Fresh's beta. I've tried Yahoo Music Radio, RadioTime and Wunderadio. As someone posted previously you can't shut off Wunderadio or RadioTime. I've read where you have to go to Manage Applications and Force close it there. Yahoo, on the other hand, runs but seems to almost continually buffer...just a split second every minute or so...then just shuts off. No force close message or anything.

I had good 4G signal (3 bars)...so it's not loss of signal.

I have no idea if this thread at XDA (Fix poor AAC streaming performance) has anything to do with the apps not working right...but supposedly makes the sound for Pandora/Slacker, etc. much better. I haven't tried it but thought I would share. (Read the thread for your answers as I have none...lol)

Ok...
First Test flight is a success.
Camera - Buggy.. If you reboot and try the camera it doesn't work. Try any other camera related app (barcode scanner, goggles, etc.) and it either gives you a camera FC or it just works. I had read in some early FROYO Roms that there were issues with the Camera.. Looks like they are still around .....
Camcorder - Same as the Camera.. Buggy.
Market - Everything I had before is up and running. I even had to do 2 updates.
Wireless Tether - Nada, Ni-Co.. No Sirve...
3G kbps Readings - 1695 kbps at 1:55am (probably cuz every1 is sleeping at this time) NO WIMAX UPDATE YET...
Flashlight = AWESOME.. I prefer the LED Light Widget but this HTC Flashlight has 3 light levels of intensity.. AWESOME.. and the screen has a flash light that looks like a MAG. Nice..
FLASH (Hulu.com) = NOPE.. No Worky either.. I thought there was supposed to be an update to Flash on this one allowing HULU video to work??
I'll keep reporting.. For now it's time to go
