One other thing, when I'm typing the green highlights on the keypad are annoying as well... can I make them blue? I downloaded the highlights and that didn't work. Any ideas?

I believe that's built into the SIP so no, you have to install a different keyboard. If you want a compact qwerty one, the instructions are in the tweaks section of post #4 of this thread but I don't remember what color the highlighting in it is.
