I may be mistaken, but I believe that scrosler uses his own kitchen, which is based on some of the same tools in Calcu's kitchen. These tools are really mostly from Bepe and Ervius, who have both moved on to using platformrebuilder (also by Bepe) which is the basis of the Visual Kitchen -- a superior tool. The fact that the creators of these tools are using something new and different should say something to take note of.

LOL - a superior tool. You had to say it didn't you? I believe you, and I'll be snagging it as soon as I have time to dig in again. I'm just asking around to see if anyone else has gotten it working in the calcu kitchen. I even posted in calcu's thread... its the stubbornness in me I guess - I REFUSE to give up!!! lol.

Don't get me wrong, Calcu's kitchen is great for an old style kitchen. I'm just saying that the guys who made those tools aren't even using them anymore. It was hard for me to switch from Calcu's kitchen for a while, since I was really comfortable with it. Now that I'm on the VK, rom building is simply so much easier. Also, I very rarely have to flash back to ship now. I don't even suggest flashing back to ship first anymore, I'm that confident with it.

LOL I understand what you meant - calcu's kitchen is an awesome kitchen, but it appears to be time to move on. I'm downloading VK right now. I might be messaging you throughout the week for help at times.

That is correct and I agree.

Edit 1: But not ready to switch.. yet...

Edit 2: But if da_reeseboy switches his format I would consider it.

Re: 7/31/09 - ROM | Kitchen | SYS - WM 6.5 23016,21828 - Generic | All Carriers -

couple questions.

1) how do I create a shortcut to a folder, that when I tap on it it opens the folder area, e.g. I create a shortcut to games, but if I move it to start menu and hit start and tap my games shortcut, it gives me an error about not being able to open it, I'm trying to get a shortcut to a folder that when I tap on it from start menu it opens the folder with icons in it.

2) Reese, on your roms Ive had it (with every build I think) where it runs perfect for like a week, then all of a sudden for no reason compact qwerty turns to full qwerty and I can't get compact back, have you had this issue, the only resolution seems to be to reflash, any other fixes for this you can think of?

It sounds like you might have to make shortcuts to the actual game exe's... sorry

Thats wierd... I've never noticed that. But I use fingerkeyboard, and I'm not sure 've kept a flash on my phone for a whole week lol. If you mean its switching to the EzInput full qwerty that is normally controlled by a reg setting so you might check it when that happens and let me know what you find. Here's the setting -

"HKLM/Software/HTC/ezsip/CurrentSIP"

= "0x00000a00" for Compact QWERTY
= "0x00000d00" for Full QWERTY

Wow that sucks, you sure there's no way to make a shortcut to a folder, seems incredible that there is no way to do this.
