Re: [ROM-090614] PowerROM v2.6.4-Titanium [build 21812] NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]

I'm uploading what I think is a great new ROM. v2.7.2 is using the new 21815SYS. I went back to the great grooveDialer and switched the older Titanium weather icons back into v4.2. I also included indagroove's new theme if you prefer the older look instead of the slightly changed colors that the new SYS creates.
For some reason there seems to be two icons for CHome Editor in there... not worth rebuilding right now, but will be removed in next version. Link is up in the first post.

so far i'm really digging your ROM...

only anomaly i've had so far is one day of horrible battery life... took phone off the charger full and within 1.5 hours it was down to 10% with almost no use... charged it up and it's been back to normal...

thanks for the hard work!

That is odd- I've generally had great battery life with it.
I just installed S2U2 again, so we'll see if the new version does better than the old ones. I consistently had horrible battery life with it installed in the 1.x versions.

Remember everyone, it's not abnormal to have really bad battery life the first day after flashing a new ROM. I've heard varying reasons why it happens, but it does seem to happen to a lot of people on a lot of ROMs.

Also, the extra CHome Config and Opera icons are easily removable by taking out the links from \Windows\Start Menu\Programs [and \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\System Utilities\].

Great rom - I have had trouble importing favorites to the Today screen Opera. I reflashed and had the same result. Still a nice rom!

I haven't had that work exactly right on any of the 6.5 ROMs I've tried. It's worked on some earlier versions of mine. Probably an issue because this latest version is Opera9.7. Might have to change some of the settings in Titanium (like I did when setting up PocketTwit).

I use winRAR to extract .7z files... maybe pocketRAR (included in this ROM) can do it. Give it a try and report back!

Just tried it. The startup/setup was strange, but working fine now.
Google Maps is another one of those apps that doesn't seem to like working when I'm connected to my PC w/ActiveSync. Are you connected when this happens?
How are you starting the app? Using the Start menu or a link/Titanium?

I have no idea why those two A/S icons show up when connected. It's done that on the last few versions using this taskbar. It doesn't bother me or cause any issues, sooooo...
Try re-installing Google Maps?

re-flashed to sprint... coupla cler storages... re-flashed to PowerROM... coupla clear storages...

so far google maps is ok...

as far as the 2 AS icons, not sure what's causing it... still got it... long as it's just a visual nuisance i can deal...

Re: [ROM-090619] PowerROM v2.7.2-Titanium [build 21815] NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]

After a few days of dealing with S2U2 I can confirm that something is going on that's messing with something in this ROM or that I've installed.
I couldn't keep my BT headset consistently connected. The DPad only functioned intermittently. S2A didn't always work or was slow to respond. The caller ID doesn't always work (didn't match to Contacts; display showed numbers improperly formatted).
Uninstalled and everything works great.

Trident been on 2.7.2 now for a some days and overall action has gone better. Still a lag when going to text from titanium esp with fingerkeyboard. Have gone back to touch pal and that seems a little better. Don't use bluetooth much so can't speak to that. Love the gs player tho haven't figured out how (besides cut and paste) to have it search out stream stations (more like shoutcast or pandora). As for battery life, just had the phone last for 36 hours plus before getting a solid drain. before flashing this new rom i tried india's for a short time and i have to say your set up is more intuitive for me. And finally, when i used music id in the car...my gf was sufficiently impressed (probably not enough to forgive me for all the on my computer away from her) but it sure was nice for a moment (-; Thanks

Yep, I just finished a nice build last night.
I'm going to test it out over the weekend and will post it when I'm comfortable with it's stability.
I tried a few different things and it took me most of yesterday to get it the way I wanted it.

I thought I had this one just right... so I posted v2.7.9 on the first page.
But I realized that I left out SprintNav and Google Maps. I can't live without them.
If you can, download the version now. If you can't wait until later tonight and I'll have up v2.7.10!

I tried it a few versions back- it has too many things that still don't work for me to include it.
Indagroove talked about it a lot- see this post.
I'll add a new dialer when it all works... or when TF3D2.5 comes out.

FYI: v2.7.10 is uploaded. Link in the first post. And here.

Not sure what you mean.
Are you talking about the Start menu? That can be changed with reStart.
Are you referring to the Titanium panel with the program launcher? I think you can change them using the CHome Editor. That one is called the CWelcomeCenter.
***Confirmed. But be careful.
Editing those links must be done exactly correctly. Remember to press Save Order before you exit or you lose all your changes. Disable Titanium before you start editing.

The ##/EPST codes all work on indagroove's dialer as well.
The things that bothered me about it when I tried it were mostly:
- curtain is kinda annoying to me
- BT notification on today screen issue
- smaller buttons

As you can see, mostly visual stuff. I'll look at Mystery's... if he's got it all working, I'd consider trying it again.
But for right now, I'm stickin' with what I got. [and that's a lot; remember that... sorry:headbang:]

Dude, you are way too demanding. I've seen you say that chefs should add this or that or fix this or that to fit the specs of your crazy sprint device on verizon network. You've done it a bunch in my thread to such an annoyance that I'm about to put you on my ignore list. I always try to answer questions, and even when Ive given you the answer you don't believe me. I asked you to put your money where your mouth was, and luckily I didn't hear from you for a while. You've been demanding here, and in mystery's thread too.

You really need to learn to cook, or just happily accept what the chefs provide for you.

Maybe a bit over the top, but not uncalled for. I checked out what you were talking about and I think you have much more patience than I.
I guess it's just kind of funny after your comments about my Ignore List in the VIP forum thread. Different things set off different people.

There's a big difference between asking questions and repeatedly asking the same question after it's correctly answered or making repeated requests for things. madcook generally has good questions about fairly technical things. I don't mind a "how do I do this?" or "can this be done?" question.

Does your GPS work with the stock ROM?

I'd say it's the drops. I've got no problems with GPS. Works quickly for me.
Flash to shipped- if you still have no GPS, take it back to Sprint.

This ROM is running awesome for me- so far everything is working perfectly.

After playing around with the new kitchen, I can say that it has potential, but isn't ready for prime time yet. Indagroove seems to concur.
So I made an update with the new 23001SYS and I've been liking it today.
We're up and running. I cleaned up the OP a little as well.
Link to v2.9 is on the OP, as usual.
I didn't think these things could get faster, but they really are.

I gotta tell you guys, I'm loving Opera 9.7. It is fast and loads way more pages than 9.5 did. It does my bank's website perfectly. And zooming is awesome.
And PhoneWeaver is working well now also. Not disappearing nearly as much.
Now if I can get a PIM that will show recurring appointments in the calendar and have a decent GUI for contacts, I'll be in heaven.

The new rom is much faster. although I am having a problem with my data connection now. After a soft reset everything connects fine; opera, PIE, accuweather...but after a while my data connection shuts down and will not relink. The only solution i have found is to soft reset. Any ideas???

I haven't seen that issue, but I was reading in another thread where someone had something similar.
I think that they ran the Update Profile app (found in Settings; System) and it fixed it.

I had this happening in earlier versions, but thought it was fixed... are you having issues with my custom ringtones or with the regular ones or ones you added yourself?
