[Discontinued] PowerROMv5-SenseUI & 4.8.5 [Titanium] Sprint
3 Attachment(s)
I've gone a totally different way now.
I used OMJ's kitchen and his basic setup, but took a few things out and changed it a little. OMJ- so glad he's back. All the highlights are blue instead of grey or green. I took out Bing and everything I could install onto the Internal Storage to save space. Btw, if you use SASHIMI with this SASHIMI compliant ROM:evil4:, I'd recommend you overwrite your current sashimi.mscr file with the one attached here. It will allow you to install cabs to internal storage; WM6.5.x breaks this function, but this hack fixes it. If you want to do it yourself, follow these directions. I wouldn't call it "stripped" but there's not nearly as much as my old Titanium ROM. But so far, everything works well. Click on the image below for the link. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1645/pccapture5.jpg The old taskbar I used is attached below. The current one is a mix using the kitchen. The other icon on the topbar is SBSH PhoneWeaver. Check it out. The most stable, feature rich and resource efficient phone manager out there, imho. Here's the link to v4.8.5. This is the newest 21904 build. Running this for a day and it's running great. I've been using this with SpbMS3.5.4- gorgeous. It's now SASHIMI compliant [SC]. Took out Sprint Nav and Opera, as I like installing them to Internal Storage w/SASHIMI. [CAMERA & CALCULATOR STILL NOT WORKING.]:disgust: If you've never used SASHIMI before, it's awesome. All you have to do is install it to Internal Storage before you flash. Then drop the appropriate things into the folders and flash. Here is the link to get it (you'll have to register, but it's free and well worth it), along with some directions. Post in this thread or that one if you have any questions. Includes psShutXP mapped to Power button. Probably a few other things. [If anyone is wondering, PRTNS= Power Rom Titianium No Sense] Even though these new ROMs based on Calk's kitchen don't REQUIRE you to flash to shipped or do a Clear Storage after you flash, I still recommend the Clear Storage part. I was having some issues last week and Clear Storage not only fixed them, but helped speed up the OS dramatically. Thanks to amikam and shadowxaero for their help... really appreciated. Preview: http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/1936/prtns442.jpg Took out OneNote. Added VoiceCommand & WM7 Titanium project. Working great with MS3.5.3. Changed a bunch of the colors so it's mostly blue/black. Took out the extra Titanium stuff like the contacts app. Changed to the M6 taskbar from TSOwens v6.1. Still using the Misfortune2 Battery icon. Very quick... so far, flawless. I finally got my EVO- and my Diamond was dying anyway. So this is done. |
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
I'll try it out, thanks. Any major lag or known bugs?
|
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
Nice work Trident
I currently am on bell so i cannot try out yet but its allways good to have another chef on board. plus i agree with only having titanium on wm6.5 as a personal preference ;) |
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
Everything I've tested so far works well.
PIE works (the only thing that didn't work for me with the 21231 build). It's still not quite as fast as a well tweaked 6.1 Manila... but I haven't really done any of my memory tweaks with MemMaid or Diamond Tweaks yet. I wouldn't call it slow or laggy though. I'll still be testing today and tomorrow and will post if I have any issues at all. I noticed that I didn't include WModem or Live search- WModem, because I almost never use it & LiveSearch because it gets updated so often, I just cab install it first thing. I'm also building a generic version right now with those two things but without SprintNav. Should be up in a little while. |
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
is there a way to make the top and bottom transparent???
|
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
Have you had a chance to create the Generic Rom yet? Any help would be appreciated.
|
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
I tried this out, I like the looks and the icons, perhaps look into chagning the dropdown menu icon (if possible would be nice made better). Also, keep note after intial load of the rom and configuration of the device take out the battery and power it up.. it will mkae you reconfigure.
It might be juts my device but I had it freeze on me so I had to take the battery out and it happened.. But even so the device didn't get fully customized the second time so I had a bricked diamond with no service. I like it though, so I wil use it for the mean time, clean, fresh, and simple. |
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
seems good on lcd screen on my laptop... now flashing to sprint official 2.0 rom then i will flash to yours. does this have the dial curtain on it.
|
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
Sorry, had some computer issues yesterday and generic ROM got messed up. I'll have it up this afternoon.
And then I was busy watching my Magic beat the Celtics last night! Some issues and responses. I have noticed that there is an occasional dual notification on incoming calls. Not a big deal... And I still don't have a way to snooze calendar reminders for anything other than 5 minutes. I'm also going to try something a little different to get rid of these issues. I'll have that up by this afternoon as well. No, there isn't a curtain on the dialer. I usually use BT headsets and it never bothered me to have the dialer available. |
Re: PowerROM- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
I think that I found a serious problem with my ROM... I don't think it's the selection, I think it's the version of the app. When I was listening to some music using WMP, my device shut down twice. Once it restarted on it's own, the second time it just shut down. A soft reset using the stylus got it going again, but it was a little nerve racking.
I'm going to flash the version I'm uploading right now and see if it's any different. Anyone who wants to try it out and give feedback would be appreciated. BTW, I'm using the PPCGeeks FTP as MegaUpload isn't being cooperative either. Thanks to DryBonz, I'm giving Megashares a try as well. Uploading there at the same time. Links up when finished. |
Re: PowerROM v1.4- WM6.5 Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila
Version 1.4 for Sprint is up now. So is the generic version.
Read the instructions on the first post to make this just right. The instructions should also work for earlier versions of this (or any WM6.5) ROM. I'd do some more testing, but I've got to cook dinner. |

Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
Check it out people.
If you want a nice WM6.5 ROM without Rhodium but with most of the good stuff, help me make this one better by flashing and commenting. And of course, if you like it, feel free to press the Thanks button. |
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
I'm gonna flash it this afternoon....looks good, hope it runs well. Any info on memory usage???

Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
No love for the members who made the kitchen, rom, sys, and oems possible and gave you the knowledge to use?

That said, on the next upgrade, I'd consider including it in there- it's not that big. ------------------- Been running strong for me all day. One seemingly random soft reset. No big deal. I did notice that when I press the Missed Calls within Titanium, it brings me to the dialerpad instead of the regular call history. Again, no big deal to me. For those who are interested- I'm using the 1.07.06F radio with more success than the new Sprint radio (and I'm on Sprint). This seems to hold calls better, gives more "bars" and doesn't get hot like the Sprint radio consistently does. |
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
looks good so far great rom thx for ur hard work

Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
oh yeah is there a way to chsnge the color on the titanium panels from blue to black or clear

Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
Just loaded the rom. Looks great, exactly what I been looking for. I don't see a need to run manilla/rhodium on top of titanium. All it would do is waste resources. I have noticed a slight delay while using the on screen keyboard. going to reflash and see if it gets better. Keep up the good work!
Any interest in doing a clean rom, pretty much just the 6.5, titanium, and all the tweaks and themes. Then have all the third party cabs included on your page to ease installation of them? Just a thought! Thanks! |

-------------- Another thing I just discovered: The WMP glitch is still there. What happens is when WMP is playing audio and the screen goes off, the phone does a soft reset. So today, I just played music through Titanium. It's not as "automatic" in that I can't select playlists- it plays everything or nothing- but it was better than nothing. I'll do some research and try and find a solution for this as it's something that I really need fixed. |
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
Yes I tried them, but they were not my cup of tea. Not only is all the programs skimmed out, but all of the visual characteristics we removed too. It pretty much makes the device look like 6/6.1, very simple interface with limited function. If we had an option say of installing all of the OS/visual mods/reg edits then apply our own programs that would rock. Maybe even do roms on different levels, 1-basic 2-necessities 3-loaded.
Dont get me wrong your rom is #1 on my list due to it lacking rhodium/manilla and this is just an opinion. Keep up the good work. Thanks Again! |
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
Testing out your rom right now Trident.
Seems like you have done your share of downloading other's work and seems like you did a good job researching as well. With so many good chefs out in the field, I can't put anything decent out lol. Kind of resembles SimpleROM so far but I'm thinking it's because it's coming off from same calcu's kitchen base. (Then again how different can you look in same OS lol) I like your settings in the front so I'll give it a go and report if anything is out of ordinary. |
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
i thought he was not going to do a gereric rom...ever...but since this only does not have mms and sprint nav i guess its not really generic
|
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
Quote:
Generic only refers to whether it is customized for a particular provider. My understanding is that selecting "generic" for the provider customizations just takes out the provider (in my case, Sprint) settings. This for this ROM, I never had any additional mms built in because I always install Sprint Picture Mail. Sprint Nav was the only provider specific application that was included. |
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
Ok, I've tried out the rom for over 24 hours now. Everything runs nice. Only the occasional GUI hickup, but that seems to be normal with 6.5. The only thing i have added to this rom in testing is restore contacts with PIM and installed wmwifirouter. I did notice that the black messaging bars would pop up occasionally on the home screen, minor annoyance. But i've seen it in other roms too. When changing themes constantly one after another, it seems to hang a bit, but i've seen worse. Wifi works fine, BT works fine with blue ant, internet works fine. I did have opera close randomly once, but these odities happen occasionally. Internet sharing works fine. Without going on forever, this seems like a good stable rom. Good job all in all. Keep up the work. My only thing is why do you have 3 different weather programs? lol. And if you would like some custom splash screens or customer animated splash screens let me know. Here is a link for a few i've done for other people on ppcgeeks. And keep up the work with the roms.

As for the weather programs... do I? I know there are multiple customizers... I only use the Titanium Customizer and to be honest, I just forgot to take the others out. I think that those weather programs (msweather, radar, and Titanium weather are an all or nothing deal in the kitchen. not sure. I'll look into it.) And thanks for the offer about the splash screen. Sounds interesting. I'll look into what it takes to implement something like that. |
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
hey trident that wmp problem seems to to be on all the 6.45 roms the only way i noticed that it dont soft reset is if you have your phone pluged in or dont let the screen turn off but i noticed it on all the 6.5 roms that ive flashed just thought u should know thx
|
Re: PowerROM v1.4.1- Titanium [21232] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
The msn weather is packaged with msn money and another program. It can be left out, i never put it in personally. and the other weather program can be left out too, leaving only the titanium weather. less redundancy imo. as for the screen. you have 4 splash screens available to you with 3 being non-animated and 1 animated. I haven't used Calk's kitchen that much, so i might not be that much of help telling you how to implement them but i can make them, lol. I use a different kitchen.

Re: PowerROM v2.3- Titanium [21725] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
This is pretty darn good, if I don't say so myself.
Tons of thanks to indagroove for his mods on the SYS, the kitchen and helpful suggestions. |

I just made an update that includes the WM7 Titanium project and cleans things up a little.
Someone had asked about memory usage. Here is a screenshot of my mem after this last flash (and the WM7-TP used a few more MB; PocketController was installed to IS and only uses 550K). I'm going to be playing with daReeseboy's kitchen over the next few days to see what that gets me. |
Re: PowerROM v2.3.3- Titanium [21725] ONLY- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]
Well, no one seems to care :( but I think I've just flashed a pretty close to perfect non-Manila WM6.5 ROM
There are a few minor glitches that are out of my control (and might be fixable), but so far, everything works great. I'll keep playing with it this weekend. A link will be up- hopefully before I go to bed. |

I'm afraid I'm not going to post the newest update tonight- I found some issues that I'm not sure are with the ROM, but don't want to put it out there in case they are. I'm going to re-flash and see what happens tomorrow. The one that's up still works great, I just wanted to do one that already had more of the customizations complete. |

I'm uploading a new ROM right now. Should be up no later than 4pm.
It's so bada$$, it broke my computer last night. [Not really, it was probably something else, but it's a funny coincidence.] Assuming everything survives the weekend, I'll do a generic version on Monday. |
