It's so bada$$, it broke my computer last night. [Not really, it was probably something else, but it's a funny coincidence.]
Assuming everything survives the weekend, I'll do a generic version on Monday.

Trident,
I've got my eye on this thread.. Looks pretty cool. I've been playing with IndaGroove's for a few days and have been pleasantly surprised. I like the sound of yours, too, and being a business-user, too, I think it might make for a good fit. Thanks for your work!

I started mine before inda did his, but his was good before mine finally worked.
I use his whenever I have an emergency (like last night when everything went to hell in a handbasket).

This latest one I just posted is pretty darn stable though... I'd really love to get some feedback from other users about what things still aren't working or need to be changed.
I'm about at the point where I don't think I'll mess with Rhodium again... until I get a Diamond2 or TP2. Titanium just works with all my software (PocketInformant8, particularly) without any mods or hacks. That alone is worth staying.

I really am not much for doing my own hacks, though I am capable of minor registry edits. I pick my rom based on stability and overall look. I always liked MightyMike's compact feel, with smaller icons and more on a page. Inda's has that feel for me on 6.5, where Mighty's currently does not. I have not gone back to any of Juicy's since discovering Mighty, because I cannot stomach being that close to the edge!

Anyway, you should add some more screen shots, maybe you'll get more of us to try it sooner. It sounds good, but not seeing more of it up front makes it a little more daunting, I think.

Pete

Trident,
This 1.4 Generic has been a great Rom for me. Any chance of getting the latest "genericized" for those of us not on Sprint?

I would surely appreciate it! Keep up the good work.

I'm discovering some of the bugs this weekend- when I do the next version, I'll do a generic at the same time. If this one keeps working this well, I'll just do a generic of it late Sunday or early Monday.

FYI, Internet Sharing doesn't work with generic ROMs (without some tweaking), if you care about that kind of thing.

Thanks, I'll make sure to just leave that out- unless there is some sort of instructions somewhere about what needs to be done to tweak it?

Users would need to enter the data information for their provider, I believe.

Personally, I live and die by internet sharing. That's just me, most don't ever even use it.

Honestly I don't really get the point of generic carrier myself. All you do is make the rom less useful overall. The disadvantages out weigh the benefits, IMO. Just leave out the Sprint OMC, if people are worried about space and Sprint specific bloat..

In the earlier version, that's all I did- I took out the carrier customizations and Sprint Nav. Those were the only two things that were dependent on Sprint service.
I don't use internet sharing except very rarely. But it's not a big amount of space to have it in case it's needed.

It actually still looks almost exactly like the first screenshot on the OP.
Only difference is that the signal strength icon isn't working correctly and the weather icons are the new Spil icons (which I don't like, but haven't figured out how to change yet).
I'm working on fixing both those issues, but not sure when that will happen.

I was messing around with the 21725 SYS when DaReeseboy put it out- but you had a good ROM available before mine was even close.
It was meant as a compliment... sorry if it came out otherwise. I was trying to be a little funny.

That's cool, but to clarify, my 21725 rom and kitchen were first posted on 5-27-09. Reeseboy posted his rom and kitchen on 5-28-09. So there -- neener neener.

Re: [ROM] PowerROM v2.3.5- Titanium ONLY [build 21725]- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]

It seems that after flashing this rom (power 2.3.5 build 21725) I can't connect my phone to my computer via Activesync to install software. WMDC keeps saying "connecting" and then "cannot read data". Tried different usb ports, rebooting etc. Reminds me of some trouble I was having w/some of the roms on this site about 6 months ago actually. Not sure what the problem was back then or now though.

Edit: Removing and re-installing wmdc (windows mobile device center) and re-applying the driver update seems to have taken care of the issue. Problem was software on my end.

I haven't seen this exact issue, but I had something similar after one of my flashes... make sure that you aren't syncing using MyPhone. I might even take it out on the next update since it seems to cause me more problems than it's worth.
Also, make sure you flashed to a shipped ROM first and do the clear storage. These steps seem more important than ever on the last few ROMs I've tried with this SYS.

I haven't seen that... are you replying directly from the Home screen or within the sms/mms app?
I think that I accidently included arcsoft in the last build that was put up. That might be what's causing it.
I'm uploading a really fantastic build right now- give it a try. Should have link up no later than 3pm. I took out arcsoft and "fixed" a few conflicting things that were caused by mixing around some OEMs. But this looks good right out of the box.

Generic ROM is up. I haven't flashed any of the non-Sprint ROMs; please let me know how it works for you.

Just to keep putting it out there to everyone~ I've never had to flash back to shipped so often as I have the last few days. It used to be just after changing SYSes, but now I get crazy behavior after every 3rd flash or so. Fair warning- play it safe and flash a shipped ROM before every custom ROM!

I've been running my v2.4A ROM for the past day and I really like it.
The only thing I'm not sure that I want to keep is the menu/notification enhancements. Good look and functional, but they don't exactly fit into the overall theme of the OS.
Not doing anything new until this weekend anyway.

oh, one more thing....
GO MAGIC!

As far as I know, there is no way to do that.
There are some themes (like indagroove's ultralite, included as default on my ROM and his) that give the appearance of the topbar being semi-transparent by skinning it to resemble the pattern on the screen. There are apps that will remove them completely, but I don't know if they work in WM6.5 yet. WisbarAdvance/AdvanceDesktop are probably your best bets at this point.

Cool. I'm uploading a newer new version right now. If you want to wait around 40min, you can check it out.
It's using the new 21731SYS and some nice tweaks mostly courtesy of indagroove. Easily my best so far.
The big thing is I took out the Rhodium notification & menu enhancements. They weren't as nice as the regular WM6.5 menus/notifications and didn't work as well.

It's up.
I just finished configuring my phone and I'm going to bed.

I think this is a really great ROM. I hope others try & like it.
I don't think I'm getting much attention because of the activity with all the chefs with so many different ROMs. But hey- their loss.

Re: [ROM] PowerROM v2.5.3- Titanium ONLY [build 21731]- NO Manila [Sprint & Generic]

Ok, about to download after i post this. People will try it, give em time. It's funny, its kinda like Windows and Mac OS around here with the roms, to put it in simple terms. I try them all, i think it fun to see what everyone has to offer, and then load mine back on at some point. I'm just picky with how I like things. But variety is the spice of life, or was that Dune? lol. For those who actually know that movie. But I agree it does seem like a lot of people do gravitate towards a few of the roms. Thats one reason i don't post mine on here, that and I don't want to have to deal with people asking why i didn't add this or why i left this or that out. But it's great to have soo many people cooking on here because it helps iron out bugs and stuff quicker. Anyways.... off to download

Generic 2.4 has 21728. Still pretty good.
I'll do a generic 2.5.5 w/21731 today. [uploading now]

OT Question for anyone- Why would one browser upload/download faster than another? When I upload to megashares usin IE8, I get about 30KB/s; using Firefox I get about 40KB/s and using Chrome I get 60KB/s! Same server, same lines...

I see... it looks like there is a link for Sashimi that it's looking for...
You have some choices. Flash back to whatever ROM you were using or a shipped ROM or my Sprint ROM. Then install Sashimi in Internal Storage and reflash this one.
Or, wait a little bit and I'll recreate this rom with no Sashimi links. I'm doing that anyway, for those others that might need this. Interesting, because I don't use Sashimi either and those links are also in the Sprint ROM... a little more research is needed.
***************
OK. I brought over everything that mentioned Sashimi from the Sprint customizations OEM and am recooking. I think that's a better idea than deleting it, since some people might want to use Sashimi. If that doesn't work, then I'll just delete the links and try again.
