well you havent run mine yet. ha. i actually dont think its that bad, i have a LOT more free RAM so naturally its running pretty quick. and ive gotten titanium to get just about the same functionality as i can get with manila, thanks to the panels avail from xda.

I'm a gluttun for punishment but I'm trying your 6.5 (mostly because your 6.1 works so well) One thing I would like to request, when you build a rom would you put the version info on the update screen in RUU. Would make it easier to be sure I'm flashing the right rom

first impressions - I still like Manlia3d. 6.5's UI seems too simple and unsophisticated. I didn't have any trouble with messaging poping up. The keyboard app works ok. Lots and lots of free memory. I don't know if thats because of no manila or fewer apps.
