Speaking of Opera...what else is done to Opera in this release. On a friends phone I changed the fps to 22 and enabled smooth scrolling, and it is nowhere near as fast as Bonz's. Is there a setting I'm missing, or is it as simple as someone posting their about:config file. I'm talking about the scrolling speed here. Theirs just seemed to stick and didn't scroll smooth and fast. Thanks

3 of the 4 things you mentioned are listed in my FAQ under the flash back to shipped section. Time to flash back to shipped. Follow the instructions in the FAQ to the letter for best results.

Are they running a different rom? Are they on the same device? Are they on the same version of Opera? It could be a multitude of things.

Stock Sprint...well the updated one with the 1.11 radio...I didn't check the version of Opera at the time.

Stock Sprint is going to be slower. Opera version should be the same to get the closest results.

It would be like trying to compare 2 different versions of desktop Opera, one being older, on 2 different PCs, one with a 1ghz cpu and one with a 2ghz cpu, one running windows XP and one running windows 98.

See where I'm going with it? You have to get all the big stuff the same to duplicate the performance... it's not a setttings issue.

*edit* Best thing you can do for your friend is get them off the stock rom.

*edit* Also, we are on Omnia video drivers while your friend will be on stock... I'm sure the list could go on.

Same version then. Go back into opera:config and under user prefs enable turbo mode. But alot has to do with sprint settings. The stock version has not been tweaked, and then released as a cab. But that should speed it up a little.

How is it going with the newer Opera .exe's on 2.8?

Been trying to get it to work, but it was a no go. Even got my hands on 16643 but no flash. So I got 16543 OEM with flash working and it is running smooth. No errors and seems fast as 15594. Flash plays good. May want to give it a run in 2.9. Here is the OEM. Thanks goes to IndaGroove for his work on getting the flash working.

Thanks... I will try to get it in the next version.

Main thing is, this ROM is never going backwards.. Always improved.
