PPCKitchen needs better support. A couple of things that always bothered me about PPCKitchen too.. First of all, that you have to be connected to the internet to build a rom -- lame. Also, i always hated how it would put the chef logo in the owner information plugin -- does it still do that?

They rephrased their question asking how to make a ROM building program, but with their name. It actually had nothing to do with any ROM modification...

Well, I didn't realize that rstoyguy has already done it here:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25529

Check out his tutorial -- it's pretty much what I would have said anyways.

hahaha. You're kidding, right? It's the most supported kitchen, by far.

You don't. Just occasionally.

Honestly, I have no clue. That was done for fun at one point.

BTW, Bepe put out a new kitchen...it's much more comparable to ppckitchen: ahead in some ways, behind in others. It's not n00b friendly, unfortunately, and it's not exactly compatible with the old build process (minor modifications to make it work right).

lol - I read that, but interpreted it as something totally different. The original question is much more interesting.

You can't. It will fade away on it's own once people lose interest in it.

Hrm ... maybe that's why I'm not feeling the love ... no check-boxes, buttons or green <build> arrows to push!

Best regards,

Re: How to Build a ROM so it displays your name

i think i understand this thread...is this question concerning whenever you turn on your phone and it displays the red letters indicating the build or is it when you go to settings and look at the device information?
