I noticed when building a clean rom there is only approx. 80mb of memory free and 45mb of ram used after the phone boots. With 4.5 there was approx 95mb of free memory and approx. 35 mb of ram on a fresh boot. Is it because of the new Touch Flo 2 interface ?

Any1 having issues with the download link for RC4? I got it downloaded all the way to last 1 sec and it kept hanging.

EDIT: finally it finished after hanging at 1 sec for 3 minutes...weird.

Hey Calku, I was wondering if you might be able to answer my question. I have asked it twice in Mightys thread because his roms are the only ones i have ever seen this in and I have now seen it in your new 21042 kitchen. For some reason the sip doesnt automatically switch between T9 and ABC. Example, in opera it automatically switches to ABC whenever you type in the address bar and on webpages and when you go to SMS to type a text, it automatically switches back to T9. Is this the SYS or do you think it is the SIP. Thanks for your help, this is my only pet peeve.

EDIT: Just so its clear, I like the automated switching.

With RC 2.1 I noticed there were 20megs of ringtones and alerts in the windows folder. Some old, and some from the Rhodium I guess. It was driving me crazy cuz it would take 90 secs to load my windows folder! In RC 4 he gave the option to add the rhodium sounds or not. This might be your issue, but I guess it depends what kitchen youre using.

This version is definately a memory hog........don't know why. I cooked one rom with the TP2 stuff and I was floating around 57% used consistently. I cooked a regular manila rom and i am sitting at around 50%....used to sit around 40%. Maybe you could look into that.

I rolled back to 21028 last night. After using 21042 for a while and then rolling back, I find that 21028 is better for memory management, battery life (especially) and also a little better on speed. IMO, it is altogether a better sys. If you are interested in experimenting, cook a new one and roll back to 21028. See what you think.

I have nothing but problems using the 21042 Kitchen using just the standard portrait manilas. It hard resets over and over, and when I can get it into TF3D, slowly programs start disappearing from the phone. Rolling back to 21028 for now.
