to dump the rom from my phone so I could restore my phone as it is now.
I have made many registry edits and took out a bunch of Alltels crap.

I have a TP kitchen also, I just need to update it with the latest changes, so stay tuned to the TP forum for the update

But if you want to use a dumped ROM to make yours, I would suggest you download my HTC kitchen and start from there as there are some changes required to make the diamond OEMs work on a TP

Unfortunately it isnt that simple. When you flash a new rom, you are completely overwriting all current programs. It is like putting a new Operating System on a computer. Your best bet is to save all of your .cab programs either on the internal storage or on your computer somewhere. Once you build your own rom or download an already built rom from the chefs here you will flash it. Then you will have to reinstall all of your programs. Keep in mind that Calku's kitchen usually has all the programs out there that are vital that you can cook into your own rom.

Also with my new TP2 rom I cooked, I am having some issues with the facebook. Before when I went to my contact info, it offered me the chance to update my picture with face book, etc. That no longer is there. On my contacts though, the facebook option is there, but it will not allow me to login (I think because the login was always on my contact info).

Anyone else having issues with that?

Sprint TV Update: I just did an update profile, and now SprintTV is working. Not sure if that was it or what though.

That because the facebook fix that was posted on xda causes the same issue as the disabler for world clock, which causes the menu pop up to not come up, so I did not include it. But you can try finding that fix and test

EDIT: I just tried this version of the fix and it seems to work fine(well the menu popup part)

I used the XDA link to dump the contents of my phone.
And used your Kitchen to extract it. I am trying to figure out what I do next to make it
back into an installable rom

It was my understanding that if I dump my phone as is and get i made back into a rom
it will put my phone back to its current configuration. Kind of like Ghosting in Windows
or Linux.

I may be misunderstanding

I'm using those two and it is coming up.

Edit: Nevermind. The menu pops up in the contacts list, but if I hit the menu botton on a contact the screen dims and stays taht way until a soft reset, or I reset Touch flo.

Yeah it is a little bit different with these phones. Anytime you flash a new rom, it wipes everything clean. It will not clean out your internal storage though.
