Double click on the page pool changer ... that will open a box where you can select the proper nbh. You will need to browse to the release diamond file and click through until you find it. Once it's highlighted, you can change the page pool to whatever you want. Calkulin usually has it set to 6, however, I change it to 24. Click save, close it out and flash away ...

I was trying to build a 6.5 ROM using v4.1 and I couldn't get the volume to adjust at all and the volume keys were like the up and down of a d-pad. Any ideas?

here is an article on changing the pagepool: http://www.etenblog.com/2008/01/14/c...age-pool-size/
In essence, a higher page pool will allow you to do more tasks, also tends to make touchflo more responsive. "Why changing its size ? Device manufacturers tend to choose a big pool size in order to have a pocket pc that can do a wide range of tasks. In practice, most users do the same tasks : GPS mainly, some media, then a classical phone usage. Most users don’t need a big pool size but a lot of RAM". The article was written almost 2 years ago so he is taking the view that a lower pagepool is also valuable if you are starved for ram. that isnt the case for the diamond so 24mb pp is a good number to go with. Some use less and dont see much of a difference though. Last edited by Riley; 11-11-2009 at 12:11 AM. |

Calkulin,
Just wanted to stop in and say a few words... First off... THANK YOU!!! I just recently went from a Touch to a Diamond and had been building all my roms with PPCK. I was having trouble getting a good Diamond rom out of the ppck so i jumped over to your VK. Took me a few days to learn this new kitchen and about 10 flashes yesterday to get the hang of it but the new v4.2 with 21876 SYS you just put out is AWESOME!! I finally, after a week and a half of owning this phone, have a rom on it that i like Thank You again!!! Great Kitchen!!! |

The new v4.2 he just put out automatically launches the PPChanger and goes right to the diamond release folder for ya so no need to browse ... and if you didn't want to change it just cancel and it launches right into the RUU |

Thanks, Bud ... I haven't launched into the new kitchen just yet. Been messing around, learning all about editing/tweaking tsk files. Sounds like you jumped into Calk's kitchen with both feet ... ten roms in one day, eh ... pretty ambitious. Nice to have you back.
