Heres the version of the tachi phone canvas im using and not havin any problems calling numbers not in my contacts list, so you might give it a try.
A freind sent me this one so not sure exactly where he got it.

cab said it was unsuccessful... don't know why???

HMMM? Thats weird. Im on 6.1.
I wouldnt really think it would matter but maybe it does??

maybe I need to close out the cprog.exe... I have read stuff on this but don't know how.. do you?

No sorry man I dont.
Like I said Im running Mightys 6.1 ROM and All I did was click the cab and it installed perfect.
Ill look around alittle.
I posted it in mightys 6.5 thread also so maybe we'll get some feedback over there also.

here is what you need, just unzip the task manager file and run the application (no need to install it, just navigate to where ever you unzipped it and just click it). now close your cprog.exe file and install the cab

wow, this worked great! i can dial my contacts and still use the keypad.

The Tachi Phone Canvas has actually been updated to v2d. You can download the latest version(Tachi_Phone_Canvas_Knoop_v2d.zip) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=499076

In looking at the screenshots, it seems to be a very nice effort on behalf of Mike Knoop. Yet, I've been having a problem installing it on my device. I keep getting the following error message: Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions.

Can anyone tell me where I went wrong.

It's fantastic, and with the Rhodium Manilla, the "call contact" from the people's tab works!

How do you open the cprog.exe file back up after you've closed it. Also, I already have task manager on my device, but I don't see cprog.exe in the exclusive programs listing. I'm running SsS-ROM v0119-S. So, I see my manila.exe files, instead. Should I disable those, maybe?
