Let's not get this started again! The only way for you to appreciate the differences is to try each one for awhile. This is not the place to compare and contrast.

I guess I thought flashing meant that an 'image' of the entire phone OS and programs basically wiped the slate clean, but it doesn't quite sound like that.
Yes, I guess that could be a fair comparison.

I think the reason GPS works on 3.5.1 using Live Search, and Garmen is that they use GPS intermediate driver to access the GPS. TomTom ig08 use com 4 to access the GPS driver. Though the GPS needs to be primed first before these applications can the GPS port.

Those that are on can try to prime there GPS first by opening Livesearch, or other priming GPS software and wait till you get a GPS lock. Now minimize the application and then open up either ig08, or TomTom and see if get a GPS lock then.

If that works then just the GPS autostart drivers are missing, or are corrupted.

I tried this with live search and had no luck. I could even get a good download with quick gps. Still no tt7.

Juggalo_x you still maybe right it seems that the only GPS programs that are working on 3.5.1 are ones that use GPS Intermediate driver to communicate with the GPS port. The programs that use a com port to communicate with GPS port do not work, regardless of priming the GPS or not.

Can someone post from GPSAuth.dll from a previous version where GPS worked to see if that fixes the issue.

I hate to break it to you but I haven't changed that dll in a long time.

It is likely due to the GPSID in the sys. I will look into it, and hopefully fix it for the next release
