Re: [In Development] Juicy ROM 3.0 [SYS OS 5.2.19965 Build 19974]
I edited my post but basically sets IE homepage to powerdeck, adds some iota settings, some other reg edits for roaming, but a lot of these are already in the ROM itself. Basically just useless Sprint tweaks custom ROMs are trying to avoid in the first place!
Basically its useless so i dont get why people are still installing it. It mightve been needed on old Mogul/Touch ROMs but definitely not needed anymore on newer devices which set themselves up over the air like the diamond. One ROM for everyone is stil the most efficient and quickest way to make progress. Dont worry about the 4 or 5 people who cant obey a warning not to use the dcd cab. |

no prob pretty much add to your first posts "DONT USE DCD CAB NOT NEEDED CAN MESS UP YOUR DEVICE" and if people cant listen its their own problem really at this point. You guys cant keep pumping out 3 or 4 different versions of the same ROM every update and then people complain why one is out a few days before the other and why Sprint users got jumped for 2 updates yada yada. All the CDMA Diamond ROMs run on all the CDMA diamonds just fine honestly no matter what carrier it is.
This will solve all of that and make your lives developing easier too just doing one version Last edited by SprintTouch08; 11-05-2008 at 12:50 AM. |

Well i know thats sarcasm but its personally disturbing how greedy and ungrateful people act towards someone doing this in their spare time for free. Suggestions or fixes is one thing but asking where your carrier's version or for an eta ever 5 hours is annoying.
Ive been using 2.7 on a sprint Diamond, even though its a Telus ROM, since he released it with zero issues- no dcd cab needed and no issues what so ever. If people used half of their brain instead of complaining "where is their carrier's ROM" they would always have the newest ROM on their phone already. |

Also, from what I read, the people were having problems had ran a PRI update. Wouldn't it be best to cook a generic rom with the option to run a carrier cab and no option to update thru Sprint (or whatever carrier)? Please understand I only consider myself an end user and am only asking these questions because I really don't know the answer. |

Re: [In Development] Juicy ROM 3.0 [SYS OS 5.2.19965 Build 19974]
nah the cab has nothing to do with your data settings from looking into the cab and what it puts in the registry. Had to be more of a coincidence. (Could be one other thing in the ##data# settings where you simply have to set the active profile from =0 to =1. Theres a thread on it here but dunno where off the top of my head but its a common issue).
No one should have to do a PRI update, this will of course screw up the phone. Your trying to install an older PRI from an older device. The cab was made for moguls and touchs not newer devices liek he pro/diamond. I cant see any reason anyone was fiddling with PRIs |

I completely agree... the main point of using these roms, in my eyes, is to cut out the need for updates and reliance on development from the carrier.
Also, thanks for the info on data... I will go full on generic next time I flash. |

my intention was to release the next version the same night i opened the thread, but i have had some unexpected set-backs.
bashing each other, bashing me, or bashing the bashing in this thread doesn't help. I'm working on the next release. Hang tight. |
