Re: Flashing a rom from the 4 gig storage

Ok... On my first Diamond, I was able to unlock it and flash ROMs via ActiveSync (on a PC) at first. But, after I started flashing ROMs from the internal storage, both my PC and Mac (through Missing Sync) stopped recognizing my phone all together. The phone would charge, but neither computers would recognize the internal storage or device storage. I didn't get any error messages either. Could this issue have been caused by flashing via internal storage?

The only other theory I have for explaining the USB function to stop working is plugging it into my sister's Blackberry charger or my car charger (which are both mini-USB) might have physically broken a pin or something... I got a replacement from Sprint that's running Mighty 4.6 and connects to my Mac and PC, but I flashed Mighty through ActiveSync on the PC.

Just a thought....

I had this same exact problem BEFORE flashing any ROM. It worked for a while in ActiveSync and showed up on my PC, but then stopped working. Suddenly my device was un-discoverable. I discovered that it was a usb transfer cord issue. I bought a new one and have not had problems since.

The thing is, the replacement Diamond I got works fine with the data cable that came with the first one, in terms of charging with the AC adapter, or through a computer, AND having a data connection. So I don't think it's a USB cable issue for me...

Re: Flashing a rom from the 4 gig storage

I would honestly look at the pins in your old diamond. flashing from internal storage does nothing to affect activesync. sometimes just killing your old partnership fixes it with vista too. (you made a new partnership with the new phone)

Re: Flashing a rom from the 4 gig storage

for those pesky activesync/WMDC issues:
check and make sure "advanced functionality" is disabled under connections -> USB to PC (on the device)

Yeah, I'm guessing it's because something happened to the pins. Sprint sent me a replacement, and it's working perfectly with my Mac AND my sister's PC. I just need to flash the stock ROM on the old one and ship it back. I hope I don't get in trouble because it's unlocked, and I can't lock it because it won't connect to a computer. =/

Re: Flashing a rom from the 4 gig storage

you can lock it from the storage just like a rom just flash the stock rom. then do the same thing with the relocker. you just need to extract the .nbh out of the rar

Great! Now my phone'll be safe to send back to Sprint! Flashing stock ROM and relocking as I type. =)

Now, I need some help. I flashed GrooveROM onto my phone. Decided I didn't really like it, and want to try out another ROM. Problem is, the computer won't successfully connect to the phone (WinXP and ActiveSync) but WILL recognize the phone, AND the phone gets stuck on the "Loading..." screen when I try to flash from internal storage.

The phone is DEFINITELY unlocked, and I'm renaming the .nbh file correctly, and the file extension is not visible in the file explorer folder because it (the extension) should be hidden, and there isn't a double extension thing (DIAMIMG.nbh.nbh) thing going on. Help?

Re: Flashing a rom from the 4 gig storage

It's got a 4GB internal storage that I can't take out or change. I've tried reformatting it through Start-->System-->Clear Storage-->Internal Storage Only or whatever the option is.
