Re: * UPDATED * JUICY ROM 2.6 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]
Wow, critique is sometimes acceptable but complaining is a whole new ball game. If anyone wants to see a bunch of complainers/whiners for a product they got for free, I know where to go. Juicy's thread.
Guys, seriously, if I was Juicy, I'd have my fists through the monitor and/or say "F*CK you people!" and leave. For good. No thanks to Juicy at all for releasing version after version, but definitely lots of lines after lines to complain how this doesn't work and how that should have worked. I understand you feel like complaining/making it known that something doesn't work, but atleast do it properly, like try to help or something. If you can't work with it, simply drop it for that period, use another ROM. Remember, every chef uses their own ROM. So almost 9 out of 10 bugs they WILL come across. No one needs to mention it. It gets irritating when one after another comes in to simply say how something is not working. I'm saddened by this state of affairs. Ugh!

I don't see much complaining here. I see people reporting issues and making suggestions. I think we all realize that this is the bleeding edge and it's a community effort..

Re: * UPDATED * JUICY ROM 2.6 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]
So, 2.6 is the first Juicy ROM I've installed, and it sounds like the landscape issues are across the board. I don't bother with landscape too much, except occasionally for reading a long web page in Opera. And it's been sorta flaky. Specifically, the redraw delay when you scroll past the portion of the screen that's been pre-rendered, is really slow. 5-10 seconds of staring at the checkerboard pattern before the data fills in. (This happens more clearly when I'm zoomed in, and significantly more in landscape mode, as far as I've noticed.) Otherwise, everything's much slimmer and peppier than the stock rom, but that one part of opera is not great in portrait, and almost unusable in landscape.
Anyone else noticed anything like this? Or am I just going crazy? And, just to be clear, this is criticism, not complaint. A million thanks, Juicy, for putting all your hard work into this... and for keeping a smile on while we all yap at you for fixes. |

It's not surprising at all that there were a few bugs with 2.6, it was a huge and ambitious release. It would be more surprising if there weren't a few bugs. I hope that the massive amounts of praise for his work stick with Juicy more than the occaisional complaint or bug report. |

No need to say sorry, just thought that your post could get very insulting and that some people could take major offense to it. You don't want to create an environment where people start saying who's 'better' and alienate others who may be doing great work. |

+1 I need to get info on all the bugs, keep 'em coming.... there is just no use in redundant reports of the same bug.

Is everyone off their knees yet?
Juicy knows how great of a job he is doing and he doesn't need consoling every time a few bugs pop up. It's not like he is a crying toddler that needs reassurance of how great he really is. Bugs are an inevitable part of ROM development. These "Juicy I love you with all of my heart, and I'll be a fanboi 4 lyfe" posts are getting redundant. |
