I was asking myself the same thing. I had issues with other sites as well so I removed his setting. Not sure why he would use that unless it gives him faster web browsing. It can if it is faster than your ISP's DNS Server. In my case, Telus works just fine for me.

4.2 works pretty flawlessly for me.

try flashing your stock rom and then 4.2 again.

most of your bugs are not rom specific.

comments like those make me wonder about the true stability of 4.2

luckily tomorrow i will have a diamond to test on. so expect either a) a release or b) me finding out nothing is wrong with it at all.

The ringer thing is definitely an issue, and I flashed to the stock rom before flashing to 4.2.

Yea i went back to 4.1 and and added new s2a cab and "no ringer" problem is gone. The many post on members who went to 4.2 that have the ringer isssue i think would make it ROM specific, but thats just my thought.

Re: [January 17th, 2009] M I G H T Y R O M 4 . 2 [SYS OS 21109 Build 21109] [UC]

Can anyone tell me off the top of their head how I can disable the phonepad sounds in the dialer?

P.S. I've had the phone freeze on me on an average of once per day (mostly while texting - if I receive a message while I am typing/sending out a message in the messaging application, the phone freezes and becomes verrrryyy slow (I have to fight to get it to soft reset). I have never encountered these problems before and have had the same program set for a while. I have not tried a hard reset/reflash yet, so this may be just a random bug.

Re: [January 17th, 2009] M I G H T Y R O M 4 . 2 [SYS OS 21109 Build 21109] [UC]

One thing I noticed, is that WAV files seem to work flawlessly. i never have any issues with the ringer, and it rings faster too (without any delay at all). So, I have made a .cab for UC for my own uses, but it should work for other's ringtone issues as well.

It installs three ringtones in WAV format to "My Documents/My Ringtones":
WAV-Ring-GrittyBeat.wav
WAV-Ring-Party.wav
WAV-Ring-Lucky.wav (set as default ringtone)

It then sets WAV-Ring-Lucky.wav as the default ringtone. Hopefully this works for other people too. Good luck!
