What is the volume problem you guys are talking about? I am using 20757 and it hangs up on people if I try to change the call volume during a call.

Re: How To: Kitchens

Hi again, I noticed that Juicy has again updated his rom to v_3.5. My question may sound naive, but is it possible to "oemize" his nearly perfect rom to add my personal tweaks or is it somehow locked to prevent tampering. I would just like to personally customize what I believe to be a great rom! On another note, will my own custom built rom be as fast and stable as his (or others) using the tools provided in TC's kitchen? I hope this post isn't offensive to anyone. I'm just trying to learn...maybe one day I can be a great chef myself, lol!

Juicy has been talking about releasing his kitchen. I don't think he has yet.

Yeah I get that as well, but it isn't that it hangs up. The SPECIFIC issue is that VOLUME UP gets crossed with the center select button from the dpad. And also related to this the center select button on the dpad works very randomly, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

The thing is that during a call center select on the dpad is like pressing talk to open a 2nd line or to pick up an call that is in call waiting.

You can test it yourself in any program, put a selection over something like file explorer press volume up a few times and that thing will get selected/executed. And if you press center select on the dpad it won't work most of the time.

I already tried using an older OEM with either of the SYS modules and the problem persisted.
I've found in my little experience that 20755 is the most stable in my builds. Everything is working and working fast. My phone likes it better that 20757.

Re: How To: Kitchens

Well, I notice that Mike just released his new rom using build 19972. This is so confusing. Maybe that's why I should leave the rom cooking up to you experts. You've had the privilege of trial and error to make these roms work so well!

There's no such SYS that I know of.

Yeah I've been running the v2.03 Kitchen with 20755 SYS and 2.03 OEM combination all day today and it has been very stable and everything is working perfectly but I definitely feel the phone is slower than with 20924, 20931 or 20757. Maybe I need to tweak my cache settings and such a bit to squeeze a little bit more juice out of it but I do feel it responding a bit slower to opening programs and switching screens, etc...

That's what I get for typing at work I hit 4 instead of 1. 20931 is what I meant.

But as far as the volume up. I have no problem even during a call with volume up using your latest 20757. I just tested it now. During a call I was able to hit volume up and down and it responded to both. Maybe it's a program the other guys are adding that's doing it. I add most of the programs myself. I'm using the Sprint Direct draw and other file, also I never add Quickmenu so maybe it could be something there. Oh yes I'm also using the lower version number Touchflo and Large Title bar.

Re: How To: Kitchens

Tobey, I flashed Juicy's 3.5 rom earlier and could not usse tt7 because it did not find a gps device. I reflased 3.5 and got the same result. I then flashed back to 3.4 and was back in business. Any suggestions as to why this ocurred? There is a bit more detail posted in Juicy's thread. Thanks
