Re: How To: Kitchens

Quick curious question, what phone did the 20931 SYS come out of or what are its origins? Not asking for any particular reason just want to know the geek history behind it. Maybe I'm a bit drunk for it being a tuesday late at night. I really hope I click my check marks in Build OS correctly. Don't drink and flash kids!! Wish me luck!

HAHAHA!!! I didn't brick my phone but I fell asleep while it flashed and booted and it stayed in the "Tap here to configure..." screen. So I woke up late (no alarms and missed 3 calls in the morning about a customer's e-mail server being down). ****!!

Re: How To: Kitchens

Just cooked a ROM under the new kitchen (v5, SYS 20931 v5a, OEM 2.03). It's looking smooth and stable so far. Only snag I've run in to is with dotfred's task manager. Normally after I reflash, I load up that task manager, stop tmail.exe, and run pim backup to get my texts and call logs back. But the task manager is stalling upon opening. I've never seen that happen before... Anyone else notice this? It restored fine, but something is causing the program to lag...

EDIT: Bluetooth is NOT working. Getting an error "There is no Bluetooth hardware installed on this device." Sucks because everything else seems so good with this kitchen. Since I live in California, I have to use a bluetooth headset in the car. Guess I have to go back to my old ROM. Boo.

any reason for stopping tmail.exe? i've always restored contacts, call history, messages, and speed dials via pimbackup w/o stopping any processes. haven't had any errors, phone just gets slow sometimes after a backup, nothing a soft-reset doesn't take care of.

tia

DLing the new kitchen now, thanks again tobey!

Re: How To: Kitchens

I must be crazy then, because using only direct extractions from the latest packages, my BT works, I can connect to my headset, and make multiple calls.

I read somewhere that stopping tmail.exe was the best way to ensure that the rethreading of messages would work. But everything restored fine without doing so. Guess I can save myself an extra step now.

I cooked twice with the same result, but I'll try redownloading the packages and see if that fixes the problem.

Re: How To: Kitchens

So can anyone else confirm if dotfred's task manager works or not? I use it all the time, and would hate to lose it if I build a new ROM...
