I charged the phone to 99% last evening, then took it off the charger before I went to bed, so it was idle all night, just checking emails every 2 hours (3 or 4x), and the phone's radio was on.

During the 8 hours I lost 1% of battery to 91%.

Of course during the day when I'm using the phone the drain is quite substantial and probably subpar, especially when I'm using data services or the phone and not as much on WiFi.

I hope this helps those who are working diligently on trying to figure out what ails the battery on this phone.
An update on this. After 6 hours, a few phone calls (25 minutes), checking email maybe 20 times, and idle the rest, I'm at 84%. Its acceptable, but I'm not using any advanced features of the smartphone either.

My old Treo 755p used to last me for at least 2 days, even if I listened to music or watched videos.

the treo also has a quite large battery. i think its 2200 mAh that's almost 1000mAh more then the diamond.

I searched for a registry entry that would make this change but did not see any.

Not sure if anyone tried this, or even if this is a proper fix, but if you change the following registry entries Opera will be the default browser for the RSS reader:

HKCR\http\shell\open\command\default = operaL.exe %1
HKCR\https\shell\open\command\default = operaL.exe %1

Doubt the second one needs to be set, but thought I'd add it just inase.

Re: [09/22/08] Juicy ROM 2.1 [TELUS & SPRINT]

took mine off the charger this morning about 8am its 4pm now (8 hours) with 2 email accounts checking every 4 hours and have 85% still. Seems on par to what my touch was, maybe a tiny bit less, but its also on its first charge still so cant say for sure yet until the battery is conditioned more.

Thanks for that. It works in RSS hub now. As for getting it to work with emails,
I changed:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\: DEFBROWSER\1 = operal.exe from ":MSPIE"
