Here's why I blame Sprint also. It is Sprint policy to allow Asurion to add the deductible to your Sprint account without notice or verification. It is then Sprint that will not remove the charge without Asurion okaying that removal. I have done checking with other carriers since this happened to me, including one's that also use Asurion. Even though they use Asurion for insurance, they do NOT allow Asurion to automatically place the deductible charge on the account without the insurance/account holder being notified first and verifying that they have placed a claim in on their phone. That makes Sprint just as responsible as Asurion for letting the claim go through without the insurance holder/phone owner being notified of a claim and verifying it with the insurance holder that it is a valid claim.

Both Asurion and Sprint can go pound sand as far as Im' concerned.

Re: Someone filed an insurance claim without my authorization?

sprint ended up crediting me back but they nor the insurance would tell me how it happened or where it ended up. I think it was an inside job and I do blame sprint for not at least making an attempt to call me to verify this information.

Re: Someone filed an insurance claim without my authorization?

As a former employee of Sprint I do have to state that this in fact was more than likely a inside job as while I was working at my call center a few advantage agents and business agents made fraudulent phone orders and insurance claims having the phones sent to their friends houses and such. These employees WERE terminated on the spot once it was discovered however this does happen every once in awhile in any company, someone gets greedy and tries to take advantage of the system.

Sorry it happened to you man and hopefully you get it handled.
