Yeah, I said it.
You stay around long enough to become VIP,
you'll realize what I've said, what others said.
You'll also realize why sometimes the longer members are mean to people.
Since we answer the same questions about 10 times throughout anygiven week when a simple search could have found the answer.
Again, you're new,
so don't even think you know it all.
Are you serious???
Join date Dec 2008??? - you consider this long enough???
And just because you put your 2 cents into every post and get thanked 20% of the time which makes your "points" get high enough to be considered a "VIP" does not give you the right to berate another poster's comment.
I visit this site DAILY and read most posts, and REAL VIPs will not act in this fashion.

Frankly Compared to how long I have been a member YOU are "New"
YOU should realize longer members SHOULDN'T be mean simply based on longevity.
That is what makes this site great...Don't ruin it.

Yes I am sure those of us that have been here for a long time know that many posted questions have been answered long ago. If only the "newbie" would start by either using the search feature or even googling the question they would find their answer, but that is why this is called a forum, and when a new thread is started with a question already answered, the veterans can give the most concise answer and save others much effort, and when that "newbie" becomes a veteran, they may return the favor WITHOUT ranting.

Going to Sprint may be a viable choice maybe ultimately the only choice. The forum has spoken, and the fact that MANY members seemingly like their Sprint service could have answered service questions and serve as a decision maker for this poster.

Re: Getting Raped by Verizon.

For those of you that like your Verizon coverage and worry about service. I find that many people do not know that when Sprint roams it goes over to Verizon's towers. Be mindful that when it does roam it goes to 1X, not EVDO.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Well I came from xda broseph.
There are alot more technical things over there and alot more technical breakdowns.
All the freeware apps that are here or anything else developed by a person in their free time was done so by someone over at xda, and then reposted here either by them but the majority of the time by someone else.
Therefore, xda database > ppcgeeks database.

I too visit this one daily.
Along with about 10 other ones.
Alot more technical ones than this site.

It's funny how people didn't try and call me out like this till I was a VIP.
Didn't happen till then.
Take the ****in title if you want.
I don't care to be VIP.
It in no way affects me or my posts.

It's funny how just because I'm vip now
(just happened less than 4 days ago)
you call me out, all the other people that say the same thing I do are not getting called out.
What gives..... jealous?

And obviously you don't see all the posts then.
Or even most posts.....If so, then you'd see vip's call people out like I did.
Alot of them.
You'd also see it behind closed doors where it happens alot more,
but you can't access those areas, and I don't believe in doing it behind people's backs.

Well if you want to get technical on length,
I can pull out my other more technical phone websites that I visit and kill that dispute.
And I'm not mean simply on that.
Obviously you didn't read everything now did ya?....
I'm not ruining it, technically YOU are for bringing up a dead argument and butting in a argument with someone else. You were not even involved in this....

Much effort?
Google is two characters less than ppcgeeks
One click is alot easier than clicking a bunch of buttons to make a new post or search posts here.
I don't think that takes much effort at all.
And if they don't search, I usually post links to other threads that have the answer.
Obviously you didn't read this thread or you'd know that, and know other things I do to help.
And isn't a forum here for people to read other people's problems/mods/hacks/etc and learn how to do them....
Funny how everything comes back to reading, isn't it?

I've returned that favor when I was still a brand new person on the Pocket pc scene.
I would search people's question on google, and find it for them.
It wouldn't take me long at all.
Again, if you read the rest of this thread, specifically my posts in it, you'd realize that now wouldn't you....

He was talking about what he could do with his verizon/alltel problems.
Didn't mention anything about switching carriers.
Yes, the person could post
I like sprint for these reasons,
not simple "switch to sprint" that everyone posts EVERYWHERE for ANY phone problem when the OP is not on sprint.
Therefore, it gets RIDICULOUS to have it as a solution for everything.
Switching to sprint doesn't solve every phone problem,
if it did, then what would you sprint people do if you had a problem,
that's to say if you sprint people even had a problem (as if it solved everything then you shouldn't have one).
I don't care if MANY members like their sprint service.
If someone was asking if they would like to switch and what carriers are good, etc, then yea, post "switch to sprint" but be detailed like I stated above by saying something along the lines of I like sprint because blah blah blah, I get really good service/coverage/etc.
Not just switch to sprint because that does not help ONE BIT
in helping the original poster decide if he would want to switch.

"could have answered service questions and serve as a decision maker for this poster"
He didn't even post anything besides switch to sprint.
there's no helpful parts there, no service questions, no nothing.
He hasn't even been back to this thread.
He was just looking for a place to say switch to sprint.
Heck he's prolly works in a sprint store and sells phones for commission.
Atleast that's what I get by his post.

I could sit here and do this alllllll night long.

I wouldn't have cared if he had gone into the least bit of detail of why the OP should have switched to sprint, but yet, he just said switch to sprint.
That does nothing but waste the OP time, PPCGeeks bandwith, a valuable spot on the thread for a better answer, and both of our times as this discussion wouldn't be happening.

Again, no one seemed to care before I was VIP, now that I'm VIP I guess I just have a big head and go around hunting for posts to call out.
haha.

If you would have read "most" of the posts, then you would have seen one of the countless number of posts I have made in the vogue section helping people. If you're at xda, in the vogue section, and a few other sections, you would also see the countelss number of helpful posts I've made.
So you can't play it off that I don't give back to the ppc community.

Another thing, if sprint is sooooooooo good, then why was it relying on the pre to bring itself back into the game and actually get people to join sprint?
The only good comments I heard for the past few years were about the prices/sero plans.

This was a dead horse, and you brought it back to life full force.

I'm done with you, and the other people that keep calling me out because I'm VIP. It's retarted. Didn't happen AT ALL before I was a VIP.
But now, because I am one, and I'd rather not even be one,
I get ripped a new one for being a vip because I have actually helped out people and gave back to the community? How the heck does that work?

But I'm done with this thread.
we all don't need to get banned or get this thread closed or keep off topic discussion going as I'm sure the OP doesn't appreciate it much.

Re: Getting Raped by Verizon.

None of this makes any sense to me. How are they stripping out SMS which is part of the signaling/control channel? That is part of the CDMA/CDMA2000 standard.

Even if they didn't allow our Alltel phones data/MMS (because it is missing the DMU stuff), couldn't we just load a Verizon PRI, PRL, DMU and then call *228 to activate for good measure? Wouldn't that now turn on our phone into a 'verizon phone?' -- as long as they'll take/activate an Alltel ESN/MEID, this doesn't seem like it'd be an issue.

I guess I'll have my own tests to conduct once I get switched over to Verizon. Seemingly, this all happens next week for me.

Yeah I know. I'm pretty frustrated myself if this is true. Who is up for a class action lawsuit if it is?

They won't take the ESN/MEID,
that's the problem.
If you can't get them to put it in their database, then you either clone a phone or you're screwed.

Thats what I mentioned a while back,
but I got called out for being a VIP thinking I was "above" everyone else and that I thought I should get "special" treatment.
Anyone care to call out mrobvious or am I just receiving special treatment by all you out there? haha.

But I'm up for a class action lawsuit.

Re: Getting Raped by Verizon.

Wow.....for the first time since joining here, it feels like a place I left awhile ago...SU

I have been with Sprint for almost 10 years. A few years ago I was having issues with Sprint so I ported over to verizon.
What a mistake.
Almost everything I was told about the plan I was switching to was a lie.
I ported back to sprint after 3 days.
It took me 7 months to get the money that was due me back from verizon.
That was then and now is now.
I don't know if things had changed.
I will say this, alot has changed for the better with Sprint.
I don't know if things have changed for the better with Verizon.
Sprint was hungry and saw that improvement was needed in many areas in order to stop losing customers and become profitable.
I don't think Verizon was ever hungry and therefore may not have thought they needed to improve in anyareas.
Just a thought.

lol, true, but if you know the way of the customer service rep,
good and bad, you should be able to work around the crappy service.
Granted it still would take the same time to get the refund, etc,
but you'd have it all taken care of in one call and get what you wanted. lol.
I guess it's just a gift that I have..... hhahahaha.

Re: Getting Raped by Verizon.

I have been having big issues with Sprint for awhile up until about 6 months ago.
During the period which lasted for months I could not say enough bad things about Sprint except that their price point and perks offered could not be matched by other carriers. I got tired of people defending them and telling me to leave sprint if I didn't like them.
I would have paid at least $75 more and lost some features with any other carrier so I stayed with Sprint and persisted to correct the issues I was having which consisted of over 100 phone calls and tens and tens of hours.
For me to recommend Sprint is a big deal as I would not have awhile ago except for their price point and features offered.
But they did turn things around regarding customer service, billing, and other issues. Plans did change though and alot of add ons are no longer offered.
For those of us who were there for all the crap that lasted years, issues are improving at sprint.
