Re: SERO Premium
Because they will charge you $40/month instead of $49.99. One of 9 lines had the 1250 SERO plan and they upgraded it to the SERO Premium but i was being charged $49.99. So I called back told them I would like to downgrade to the $40 500 minute SERO Premium plan and they did that. But if you think you call landlines a lot then stick with the 1250 minute plan. 99.5% of my calls are to cellphones, only when I call home(my mom) is the only time i really use my minutes but thats about to change too haha.

But just to confirm, you can get this done at the corporate store. Get a manager to call National Sales and get it done for you. It seems it's so new that the employees are not up to date. All their excuses are for OLD SERO, but they seem not to be aware of the NEW SERO Premium plans, and that they "CAN" get it processed for you. I called and spoke with 4 reps on the phone, the last guy bent over backwards for me, looking for "employee care" phone number. At the end he asked and confirmed from 3 supervisors that I could only get mine done at a corporate store. I had already done so earlier that day and was told NO. But armed with notes on my account and confirmation, I went to another store. The floor manager happen to be greeting at the door, she took me to her station. There the TECH says nope, they can't do SERO (No one asked him, but he volunteered the info. I politely told him that was the previous answer, but that it changed on OCT 1. - sounds harsh, it didn't really come out that way, the guy was cool and I wasn't a brick with him.) The manager says the same thing, but that she was gonna call national sales just to be sure. I told her my story and she confirmed the notes on the account. 10 mins later it was handled, she told me that my corp discount would be removed, everything else stays the same and that I would only be able to do my upgrades at a corporate store from now on, as long as I kept my SERO account. Later that day I called *2 to have my previous bill adjusted, the rep reminded me "You can never change your plan, if you ever decide to leave SERO, you can never be put back on it."... (she also told me it would be my last $20 credit, as SERO is a "NO Discount" plan. Also confirmed they are auditing accounts and removing discounts. Same goes for family/multiline plans, only the first and second lines would qualify for discounts on the standard everything plans.) -CC

Re: SERO Premium
Am I the only one who found the new SERO not worth it? I had 3 phones on SERO. I worked it out and with SERO premium /w a 4G phone would have cost me $159.97. EPRP would have been $154.98. Normal family plan + corp discount will be $145.48. In addition it would have cost me $249 each epic AND I would have had to deal with a rebate. I decided to swap to the family plan and now I can just upgrade as normal at RS or BB and then I only have to pay $219 per phone now.
I also had 1 month left before I could upgrade, employee accounts wouldnt budge, once I swapped plans, the consumer accounts customer service bumped me up 30 days for $25 on both phones. Even with 2 accounts it isnt much difference. $100 vs $110 which the extra $10 would be worth it to me for the fact you can upgrade at 3rd party retail stores which are cheaper. + Premier customer upgrades. Re: SERO Premium
Oh I don't disagree that it isn't worth it for everyone... but for most I don't see a reason. For a single phone, I agree SERO premium is worth it, any more than 1 account and it isn't worth it like it used to be, especially since they cut out the 3rd party retailer upgrades.

Re: SERO Premium
I got two lines on sero and just can't justify upgrading from the overclocked tp2. Yes there are a ton of things wrong with tp2 and I went over where the grass was greener and there are still a bunch of problems (some new some old ones). More over the resolution didn't really change (still 800x480).
With all the talk about dual core chips coming out in a few months / q1 2011 and the fact that I'd go from $60/mos (2 sero lines @ $30) to $100 is well...absurd. I say this now, considering I haven't given into the temptation of buying that new shiny device. Plus I hate the fact that I'd be stuck with it for two freaking years!! Now that is just cruel and unusual punishment |

Re: SERO Premium
I wish there was only one $10 charge for the new phones (Epic and EVO). When you factor in the cost of loosing discounts, and then the 2 $10 add-on fees, you have pretty much doubled your SERO plan cost per line.

Re: SERO Premium
Just wondering if it is possible to start swapping phones online once we are set up on SERO-P. Also how does it work when swapping between 4g phones and non?
I switch phones often and this could start getting confusing with the stupid 4g tax add on. Anyone have experience doing this yet? how does it work on a regular plan (with the 4g fee)? Last edited by lafester; 10-05-2010 at 11:45 AM. |
