I'm using the Raphael files and I was able to boot jailbreak and install Backup Manager. Is there a reason it worked the first time I tried it, but can't get it to work again? Thanks. OK so I got it to boot JB a second time and installed the homebrew ftp. Turns out it might take many times to get it working. Now my only issue is black screen when running Backup Manager. Thanks for your help. Last edited by jpriset; 09-14-2010 at 04:40 PM. Reason: Added info |

Are the Raphael files (psfreedom) able to work with Backup Manager? After installing and running BM, I just got a black screen. I read that we might need a patched version. Thanks. |

Timing of plugging in and pressing button has something to do with success or fail. Of the several tries, only two times worked. Both times, I waited 5 ~ 10 sec after plugging in the power to the PS3. 2. I didn't have to reboot into Windows and restart Android in order for PSFreedom to work both times. 3. "rmmod psfreedom" removes the module. I am going to test by removing and loading the module again without reboot and try to see if it works. rmmod & insmod w/o rebooting works perfect. You don't have to reboot your phone after you are done with jailbreaking. Simply rmmod and use your phone and when you need to jailbreak again, insmod and you are all set I haven't tested the playing backup games but backup itself is working fine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After my initial test, I haven't used it at all. I am waiting for something like XMBC so I can get rid of my media streamer and just use PS3 |

I read it and I think I almost having the timing down. My only issue now is a black screen when running Backup Manager. I never get the disclaimer screen. I am going to try a different BM file and see how it goes. BTW, this is so exciting LOL |

Re: PSFreedom for Rhodium
I downloaded the files from here PSFreedom for HTC Raphael (Backups enabled) - at ModdingWay
I can JailBreak with no problem. Initially I was getting a black screen when running Backup Manager, so I used the Homebrew FTP to copy some games directly to the PS3 internal harddrive. Then, Backup Manager worked (I could see the games I copied and the game in the drive). My issue now is that after clicking on any of the games and the XMB restarts, it always shows the game in the drive. So I can't actually play anything I copied. Does anyone know why you can see games in Backup Manager, but not play them? Thanks. Edit: Grab the hawker180 files on XDA as I am successfully playing games from Backup Manager. YEAH!!! Re: PSFreedom for Rhodium
I thought this thread would be a little busier. Jailbreaking my PS3 is the most exciting electronic adventure as of late. The fact that I can use my Sprint TP2 running a ported version of Android Jailbreak my PS3 is amazing.
Does anyone know what is special about the zImage and Module files that come with PSFreedom? I tried upgrading to the newest Android build but PSFreedom would not run. If so, could a new PSFreedom pack get created using the newest Android files? Thanks. BTW, I've been running the Homebrew FTP, Backup Manager, and the SNES Emulator with very few issues. |
