Re: MMS Bounty for CDMA Android Port **Currently: $30**
I wonder if the apk/odex files were placed in /system/app after a clean setup if they would work? I can't really test this at all unfortunately or I would do it.

idk if it would or not, when I put the apk and odex files in there it completely removed my messaging icon and anything to do with it. It seemed to have also caused some issues w/ connectivity, although can't be sure of that. Nothing would come through, no messages at all, not even notification of them. And for whatever reason I wasn't getting email updates at that time either. |

Maybe I'll try to convert the binary xml files again, and then look at the current mms.apk file to see what is different between them and how to change things to work properly. It may take a few days though as I'm quite busy at the moment unfortunately.

Re: MMS Bounty for CDMA Android Port **Currently: $30**
Take your time!! Idk if it makes a difference, but when Modmyppc posted the "stock" MMS.apk from the port and I removed the opex file and just replaced the Evo mms.apk w/ our stock on, the icon came back and I was able to text again, although it was a little sketchy. So there's something in the evo apk that's not playing well, even though they're both 2.2 and Sprint. Although now that I think of it, maybe it was just the opex file causing issues. Do you know offhand what the opex file does? I wonder if I just drop the Evo apk in there what will happen. Maybe I'll give that a shot tomorrow if I've got some time to play with it and rebuild my Os again if she gets borked again.

I don't know much about them yet as I'm fairly new to Android as well, at least anything major about android. I'll be sure to look into it then and try to figure out how to try and get the apks working.

Re: MMS Bounty for CDMA Android Port **Currently: $30**
for now, heres a apn-conf.xml with SprintMMS added into it.. many carriers inside Sprint was not..
cant do much with it yet im assuming... plus not even sure i wrote it right lol.. ill get it though.. the .xmls inside the MMS.apk itself are binary(as stated) i have a feeling were gonna need to get inside that somehow as well.. im guessing the apn-conf.xml and the MMS.apk will need to be modded.. also playing around with Handcent-since it allows for Custom User Agent Spoofing... Day 1(today) trials, so far no go... so far nothing ive changed has taken away the ability to send messages though.. be back later |
