Hey guys

Hope this wasn't covered somewhere and i missed it
I looked around for a bit and didn't see this mentioned.


I noticed that when using any of the android builds on my sprint tp2, the screen still has power going to it even when the device is in sleep mode, no matter what my screen has a small amount of light being emitted, if I cup the phone with my hands, and look at the screen theres still light being emitted from it!

Duh!
guess if it was any bigger it would have blinded me!

Why is my backlight always staying on?
To fix this, we need to disable Windows Mobile's Automatic Adjustment and Dim settings. If you are using the Startup Utility, then this is taken care of automatically. Here are the manual instructions otherwise.

From within Windows Mobile
Tap START - SETTINGS - SYSTEM - POWER - BACKLIGHT
Tap to Uncheck - Automatically adjust backlight

During the boot animation my phone restarts. I changed the start txt to make it seem like my phone was charging since I noticed it was showing my battery was about dead,and it's not. Any ideas?

What are .REC files on my SD card i have about 80 of them lol. Are they save to remove ?

Does the Startup Utility not work with this new build, 8/18, for anyone else? It's not a problem since I have a working startup.txt, but just wondering.

Well the battery reading isn't accurate a lot of the time as you know. Did you change the OC setting in your startup? Might be overclocked more than your device can handle

I believe those are just error logs. I delete them periodically.

Works for me... did you uninstall the old one first?

No I haven't tried that yet . What number do you suggest?

May be a stupid question, but when I click on 'view' for blazn cab, I get around 78 MB file but it doesn't have a .cab file. I got it worked on the last build but this time no dice. So I tried .rar, got it installed and booted android but then I had no service. I know I have to check force cdma, but I didnt have any option to do so upon clicking on haret. I know I am doing something wrong, so please help me out.

Read the FAQ about your Startup.txt file.

The file is supposed to be 87mb I think. Maybe you only got a partial download.

But since you're not using the startup utility, open your startup.txt and edit it so that it says force cdma=1. Make sure your SIM is out. Make sure airplane mode isn't on.
