boodaka & mikee4fun & boodaka- No metro, old phone on Sprint

so now that you all got your lil weak a$$ roast out there do any of you have the answer or a solution? If not shut the phuck up and let a real developer answer the question.

Has any developers been able to pull the sound drivers from the Verizon HTC Incredible to see if they will work for our touch pro2 in Android? Does any one have knowledge on how to develop the drivers if those won't work.

It's called an internet forum, don't take it so personal.

That being said, do you have know if the Incredible and TP2 share the same sound hardware? If not it would be a huge waste to time for a dev to pursue.

I did not take it personal, I knew it was a joke, hence the word "roast". I'm not attempting to be rude either. I just really want to work on this issue of the sound drivers and the jokes weren't helping.
I don't know if the two phones share the same hardware, I'm just hoping.

is any progress being made on enabling bluetooth on the Android port? i would sacrifice outward sound (speaker, ringer, etc.) to be able to use my bluetooth headset. i love the Android platform on the TP2 but i have to switch to winmob when i need to drive because of the handset law. any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I am in the same boat. Sound + battery life are currently the key things keeping me going back to winmo. Winmo crashes very frequently for me as I have activesync going every now and then and at some point winmo fragments the memory enough to require a reset (Cleanram helps but after few runs of Cleanram, I have to reset to get it working properly).

Otherwise I am ok with the speed specially using the "dirty" kernel which is definitely faster and very very usable.

Nice phone, but I'm on SERO.. $30/month - unlimited text and data.. It's not worth an extra $50/month. That comes to $600/year.. every year.

I'm in the same boat. SERO $50/month, wish sprint would quit playing these provisioning games, when we know that Android can run on our plans.
If only the EVO was a WM device, that would be nice.

bedoig 05-27-2010 11:37 AM

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [5/10] GPS NOW WORKING!

Long time SERO & WM guy too, but just had to give it up. The way I look at (or, the way I sold myself on the idea at least) was that I'd gotten a good run out of SERO. Saved several thousand over the last couple years, so I don't mind upping my plan too badly now. Sprint still has the best rates around.

And as far as WM, the thing that attracted me to it (and probably what attracted everyone else to it) was the fact that it could do things that nothing else could. The time has finally come where the opposite is true though. I was sick of getting left behind while applications went to Android and the iPhone. Plus, WM's lockups and resets were really starting to get under my skin after 5+ years. Honestly, ever since WM5 it seems like things have progressively gotten worse, rather than better.

There are still one or two WM apps that haven't made they're way to Android yet, but should be soon. Until then, I'm still really enjoying a fresh new experience.

I am having an issue after the first use/boot, when clicking the MJDdroidutility then selecting rhod 400, then runandroid, it takes me to a launch script screen, it looks for the default path where the executable file lives, currently points to default.exe. does anyone knows why and how to fix it?

Im about to make some new updates for downloads guys. Does anyone still use the 2.0.1 build? I am thinking about getting rid of it completely since we have a very clean 2.1 AOSP build. Also Babijoee released a .sqsh version of 2.1 with Launcher Pro added, which is a lot like the nexus 1 launcher, and i was thinking about making you guys a new build with it included.

Love it, if I am right 2.1 has the exchange support. I am using the Sense UI version (2.1) to get the exchange feature but Sense is slow, so would love to use the build you are planning to.

Thanks!

Does anyone happen to know why corporate calendar isn't in the build? Am I missing it, or is it not included by default. Not an issue, just curious. I noticed unless I use gmail my exchange calendar does not appear, but someone said to use corporate calendar.

If I am right, go to options in Calendar and select the Calendar you want to display. You should have multiple choices between gmail, exchange, etc.,

I found it and just tried. It does not have the exchange support. It will be great if you can add in the exchange support. I believe AOSP has this disable or built without it while the Sense build of 2.1 has the Exchange support.

No, the battery fix has not been added to the mainstream kernel build yet. I am not sure if they are trying to tweak it more before adding it, or if it is because it breaks the WiFi, and they have to figure out why. You will still need to use the fixed zimage file manually. The reason I did not include this yet is because of the WiFi issue. I personally do not use WiFi, so i have the battery fix installed. :)

How can I add outlook calendar exchange sync with AOSP, sense 2.1 currently syncs the calendar, contacts and emails and AOSP syncs only mail and contacts.

Thank you!

wow, i must really have not been paying attention lately, but check this out.

Using both the zimage/modules from the battery fix, and the newest rootfs (using either the update tool, or from the project tracking page) i have all 3 gps/wifi/and battery meter working at the same time. :)

Not sure how i missed the fixes, but there it is.... LOL

It just struck me that we're all so close to having a fully functional android- sound, camera & bluetooth? It's so close, yet so far but at the same time you dev's have come so far..I remember when the wi-fi was working it was ground breaking

I think I'm missing a step or something. I ran the update tool to get an updated rootfs, then i copied the zimage/modules files i downloaded from that link and when I boot into android, it thinks my phone is connected to a charger. I had a 100% charge before booting into android, and on the lock screen it says (83% charging)

Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

You have to pick "LauncherPro" as the default home screen when you first boot android.

Make sure you install Android on to the SD Card and not the internal memory. Android needs to read the files on the SD Card because it can only access the SD when booting up.

Be sure to thank me if I helped you out.

I played around more with this build and like the speed of it and would love to see the Exchange support put in. As I have to use exchange, I am going back to the slow Sense Build for exchange support.

Love the launcherpro!
