Reefer:
How can we modify the build.prop file in the system folder? I'm trying to fix a problem with my certain ringers only ringing one time during an incoming call, and the possible fix entails modifying the build.prop file. I can successfully modify it using Root Explorer, but when I reboot none of the changes stick. I've tried adding the line in my startup.txt file also, but either it's: 1) still a bug or 2) startup.txt isn't the place to add the change. Basically, it's changing the line from "ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=1" to "ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=2000." Thanks for any insight you can provide. |

Holy crap, my little LED isn't staying on or flashing anymore - Was this part of the latest zImage / Modules fix? if so, thanks!
nm...it came back after droid crashed & rebooted. |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
The LED is supposed to be on. Steady green is good, and what you want. If your orange more then green, try killing some programs. Or have reduce frequency of email checking, Favebook updates, Twitter updates, News updates, etc.
Your battery will thank you. |

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
I just installed the market access apk to open the market place, and it worked like a charm. Very cool to finally see all the apps that are not free.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
No problem. For those that are new to android like me, the linked file is a zip. Download that file, move it to your phone and rename that file to an .apk. Then just use your app installer of choice to install the program. Oh, here are a couple of the carrier codes not preinstalled for us US folks -
Sprint in USA is 310120 Verizon in USA is 310012 AT&T in USA is 310410 Put your carrier number in the Custom section and that is all you do. |

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
forgive if this is not the proper place for this posting, but where can I find out if SenseUI for cdma TP2 android will be updated. I'm running 2.1 with SenseUI with the new sound zimage. The only problem I'm having in the MarketPlace is trying to do a search. If I search it reboots Android. and there is no GPS in this system build. How can I keep sense and get GPS?

The Sense build was kind of flaky, used alot of memory and my phone was blazin hot (pun intended). The Froyo builds run much better IMHO. |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
So far no huge problems for me on the new Blazn build. The only negative is the quick battery drain. I now can play Appeak poker against my wife online. That game is cool if you like Texas Holdem. Great job to the devs that helped to get this build up and running. Funny thing is, now sound is working, I tend to turn the sound off any way.lol

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
As a long time lurker, first time poster ... thanks for the vibrant community that's gotten this project to where it is now. You people rule!
I have a Sprint TP2, and had issues with no signal and airplane mode with my SIM card in at first. I got it work work just fine with the SIM card in. I edited the startup.txt and changed "htc_hw.force_cdma=0" to "force_cdma=1". Simply editing to set "htc_hw.force_cdma=1" did NOT work for me, with multiple reboots. Just my FWIW. |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
I've installed the cab version on a Verizon Rhodium. It boots up and asks me to choose a phone for proper key mapping, then it boots into the intro screen with all the phones and the Android. But there it stops. Never been able to get past that intro. No amount of screen tapping or key pressing seems to matter. I just get to watch the Android move around the screen before I have to soft reset. I have tried selecting a different phone. Deleting the data file. Booting from Haret only. Same result every time. And yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled it.

is android marketplace down for anyone else? I get network errors today, everything else appears to be working fine. I ran the updater last night, not sure if that had anything to do with it. I'm on a Sprint TP2 running the latest blazn build.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
Not quite sure what is wrong but I was running Android for about 2 days solid with no problems, but this morning my phone shut off and than boot back into the Sprint ROM. I have tried launching Android again but once everything loads up I just have a black screen, the phone is not off I can tell it's back lite but nothing happens. I have wiped my SD card clear and put all the Android back onto it but still the same thing. Maybe it's a simple fix but I can't figure out what's wrong.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
I didn't see it mentioned but if anyone was looking or wondering importing Vcards from Outlook is easy.
Transfering from Simcard didn't work for me and Android just stayed on "Reading Sim Card..." and never did anything. What I did was since I had all my contacts in Outlook I highlighted all of them, right clicked on a contact, "Send Full Contact", "In Internet Format (VCard)". This will open an email with all of your contacts on the attachment line allowing you to select them all at one time. I then connected my Phone while in WinMo and connected as a USB Drive. I then created a folder called VCard in the Root. Then I copied all of the slected contacts from the e-mail and then pasted them in the VCard folder. Then I rebooted into XAndroid and went to contacts, brought up the menu (Windows Key), then selected "Import/Export" and finally "Import from SD". This gave me the option to import them all at once. Sorry if someone did post this and I missed this. Hopefully this helps someone. |

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
So I had Android running fine the other day. The I updated to the latest NRG rom and did the cab install of android. The first time I run it it works just fine. Then after Gmaps crashes the phone and I wait for WinMo to start again. I then try to run ProjectAndroid again from the menu and it freezes on a screen that sasy HaRet Version Pre-0.5.3- and has default.txt box. Nothing I can do will make android start again. I end up having to uninstall android and delete the entire android and andboot folders from my SD card. Any help would be great.
Also is it normal for Gmaps and Navigation to crash the phone? |

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
What sort of battery life is everyone getting right now? Also, is it safe to leave the phone plugged in charging over night with Android running?

With heavy use, you get about 4-5 hours and 10-12 hours standby. |
Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!
^^That's about what I'm getting on Blazin. But, I've been consistently experiencing a very SOD-like state if I leave the screen off for more than a few minutes.
