This is awesome...I can't wait to get home and try it out. When we say sound is working, do we mean everything, like speakerphone, the audio error when you tried to use voice dial, etc?

this is awesome news!!!!!

has anyone been able to get wifi tethering to work?
Someone said it was because we use ip table 1.3 and not 1.4 is this true and if so how hard would it be to update this?

edit because that all that keeping me in winmo at this point.

does your speaker have static noise when there's not audio playing?

I use "xdandroid-tether.apk" from here http://xdandroid.southcape.org/ and it works fine.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/26] SOUND IS FIXED!

By the way guys, give credit where it is due. Yes, the guys who got sound working albeit obviously smart, were not alone. They used a lot of other peoples work to get to the point where they were really only looking at a very small area that needed fixing. Without peoples previous work like Phh, or WisTilt2's insight, ACL and Wozzer and their crew banging away at it over and over and over, this never would have happened. Make sure you guys understand not just a couple people fixed this issue.

whoa, never heard of this but will test shortly :headbang: two big hurdles down in one day: sound and tether!

This just might be the best day ever... so far. Once/if camera functionality comes around winmo will be of very little use to me!

Reef you're absolutely right there are alot of unsung heroes that have made both minor and major contributions to the progress we've seen in this project... just don't forget to name yourself, you've been a champion for those of us who were once left out on the CDMA side! Thanks for your dedication and skill!

I showed it to my co worker and noticed that there was a his, but when I hit the volume button it went away.

There is a noticeable pop when you enter some type of sound app.

Pop or no Pop this Rocks.

LOL... POP ROCKS

I do on my sprint tp2 as well. Sound does work though I tested with a mp3 Plugging in headphones doesn't do anything though sound and hiss/pop still come through the back speaker regardless of my plugging in headphones. I have changed ringer volume and media volume and hiss/pop is still there. I am using a fat32 card I am gonna try ext2 maybe tonight or this weekend, although I never have before.
Now if only I can get I heart radio to work.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/26] SOUND IS FIXED!

Installed on my Sprint TP2. Hissing/static begins during Android bootup and continues when fully booted. Pressing volume/calling the phone will stop it momentarily but it always begins again. Tried changing startup.txt cpu frequency setting back to 500 (or stock) but that made no difference. Also, when on a call, the speaker phone does not output sound and if you put it in speaker phone mode this will cause the sound to mute on the phone.

Only report this to help those who have come this far diagnose what may be wrong, if they care to do so. I remain appreciative of everyone's efforts!

I just installed the new cab over the prior 8/18 cab and all my custom user settings remained intact. Is this normal operating procedure or did I get lucky?

I think I just peed a little...=D>

But seriously, this is great. It works with no problems at all for me. A bit getting used to.

Is there a way to somehow import my contacts from my winmo side? All I use is MS MyPhone.

Where's the infamous flip clock I see on the EVO's??

I would set up a google sync/exchange account on your winmo phone. Android is so google centered it will make your experience a lot better

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/26] SOUND IS FIXED!

I encountered a bit of a weird issue... I booted into the latest build fine, everything was working great but then it went into sleep/standby and I couldn't get it to wake up. Rebooted it by taking battery out, and back in winmo I found my keyboard wasnt working right.. for some reason both hardware and software keyboards had 'shift' key functionality broken and I couldn't put in any capital letters. Doing hard reset fixed the issue though.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/26] SOUND IS FIXED!

Got the sound working, loving it. Have a hiss/static as everyone else does, but it's not that loud so it doesn't bother me. Thanks to all.

download one of the Android ports from the Neopeek thread on XDA and rename it to androidinstall.tar.gz

From there it's pretty straightforward, go with the instructions from the XDA thread and you should be straight

http://glemsom.users.anapnea.net/and...htc-msm-linux/ Download the newest package and replace the files in your andboot folder. This will take care of the hissing sound.

Also, be sure to rename the Zimage_2010etcetcetc to zImage and delete the old modules file

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [8/26] SOUND IS FIXED!

Wow, this is great! Thanks for the updated module file. Thanks given. I'm trying to use the voice search functions but it never seems to hear a voice, have I done something wrong? Also, playing youtube results in no video only audio. Overall though it saddens me to realize I will go full Android soon and that this phones screen was never this beautiful under WinMo. Thanks in advance
