How many FPS were we getting before we had HW3D working?

If you disable hw3d in startup.txt, you get around 1 FPS in Neocore.

Make sure that Location is set to on in WinMo. I had the same issue just a couple days ago, and I think that it happens when it tries to find your location.

Suddenly my soft keys remain constantly lit on both battery and charge. Anyone else experience this? I'm using Blazn.

In the 9.26 blazin build it looks like the sense flip clock is built into a widget but it doesn't display the time inside the flip or weather. Anyone know how to activate this?

If the phone keys are lit as well then try waiting until they are not lit in WinMobile 1st before going into Android.

Keep in mind that before u load this, change the clock speed as my TP2 runs at 841728 = 822mhz. Yours could run it if it can handle this clock

So if yours wont start, change the oc_freq_khz=841728 line to whatever speed your TP2 can handle.

Good luck

After a fresh install I ran Project Android and was able to get everything up and running but with no service. I saved your startup text and to the right folder. Now when I try to run it, the windows top bar goes to the bottom and doesn't do anything it just freezes. I have to take the battery our and restart the phone. Can someone help with this situation?

This is what I am finding as well. Whatever changes were made to the latest release, I can't seem to overclock as high as before. just keeping it at 700 now.

So change the 841728 to 700???? Seems like a big change... Sorry if I'm misunderstanding this one.

Guys we really have to do a MUCH better job of reading before we post a question. 98% of you questions have already been asked and answered in the 5-10 pages prior to your post. I know it sucks but it's the one part of surfing a forum that no one else can do FOR you, you HAVE TO READ!

Thx,

Mgmt

It's only a big change cause most of us cant get ours to operate on that high of an OC, mine seems to like it right around 766800.

not 700; 700000 or the overclock reefer uses 716800 or just remove this line in general if neither work for you. This has been answered as a six digit number in many startup.txt posted in the last ten pages and in the FAQ. If you see a six digit number that follows the 'acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=' that is lower than the 841728 you posted then you might have more luck. Please read and stop filling the forums with the same questions answered several times.

If you are still having problems start over by reformatting your SD card like it suggests in the FAQ and teradog's thread on how to get android running( http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/tp2-androi...pt-2010-a.html ). Teradog even puts links up to reformatting tools that do it super quickly. Then copy your startup.txt for your specific carrier from the FAQ or copy it from someone who posted their startup.txt configuration for your carrier and paste it over the startup.txt file that was in Reefer's package. Then save it as the same file name. Then highlight and copy everything inside the andboot folder and drag into the root of your storage card. Run file explorer from winmo and select Haret. Presto.

Side note; I typically download and unpack Reefer's rar file on my pc and drag and drop everything to the root of my storage card via windows mobile device center (WMDC). I believe you need to edit the startup.txt file on your pc and not on your storage card through WMDC or it will not save the changes.

Now someone answer one of my damn redundant questions! jk, kind of.

You can't use OI File Manager. Install Root Explorer by placing the attached file in your Android Apps folder. Now boot into Android and find the program in applications. Browse to /system/app and find/delete the gmail.apk. Delete by press and hold until dialog box shows. Hit delete. Reboot.

Good luck :)

To upgrade from the Aug 30 build to the latest one can you simply replace the zimage and rootfs.img file in the andboot folder? It looks like you need to change the startup.txt file to allow the 3D hardware also. Is this the best way to upgrade the latest build or should I be doing something else. Just trying to upgrade without losing anything in the current build. Thanks.

I've read this thread...tried a few suggestions...but I still can't get the ringtone to work. The only option I get is silent when I try to assign one for the ring.. I have a ringtone folder in the andboot/media folder. When so far as to reformat my SDCArd.. ..any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Try to do a FULL (not quick) Format on the SD Card as Fat32. If you card is less then 2GB set the Cluster Allocation size at 32kb if its bigger, like 4GB or more set the cluster size at 64kb. Then do a fresh install of XDAndroid. I was able to use an SD Card of mine that would not be read properly by Android and it wouldnt scan the media no matter what, but once I changed the Allocation Size other than Default it started working. By the way I was using Win7 and 2GB card.

I know you were all expecting a release today. It MAY still happen, but we actually got sidetracked working on the new startup utility and update tool. GREAT job by sovereignty who took the time to cover all my annoying requests about the app. :) It is tested and working, and compatible with all of the handsets that run this build of XDAndroid. I will include this in the new build that I release after fixing the theme issues with BLAZN. Please stand by. ;)

Btw, I tried both the reference and blazn. and why in the world does the blazn version had the wifi tethering omitted? The reference has it and works good. I can connect my Epic and surf. The blazn version only gives you usb tethering. anyone know why they omitted it? oh, All my 34 games run exactly the same as before the so called 3d fix. anyone notice that too?

I saw install instructions that said to reformat the sd card first.

Does that mean it's not recommended to put android on your main storage card?

I want to take full advantage my dual boot program and I perfer not to have to switch cards all the time.

Thanks!

Just means a freshly formatted card will run smoother, it doesn't mean you cant re-add other items to your SD card after the format. :)

In the Kernel just before this new 26/9 release, Wifi was working except for WEP. Does the new kernel have working WEP WIFI?

FAQ says it also:

It seems users that are running WEP encryption are having issues. This is a known issue and hopefully will be addressed in time

Please let me know if it works with this Kernel.

Even if it does work, you shouldn't use WEP. I'm sure people are tired of me saying it, but it's an awful protocol that any 13-year-old can hack in under 2 minutes.

I don't know anything about the router you're using, but usually, even if you're forced to use a particular router, you can at least change the wireless encryption used. I think most default to WEP as it's the most widely accepted encryption, and something is better than nothing. However, WPA and WPA2 have been out long enough now that anything made within the past 3-4 years should support it.
