"Spare Parts" is not a fix.
Have to agree with this. There is no home button now.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!

The power button does not seem to work for me at all either (rhod100_uk) using the latest Blazin' version and the latest kernel. I have set my end key to do home, then sleep.
The power button does not sleep or wake-up my device at all, but I heard it did work for some other people. Maybe there is a difference between rhod versions, or maybe it has to do with Blazin' or an app overruling the button?

How can I test whats the problem? Are there any logfiles I could check?

Update. The new rootfs/kernels should fix this issue.

Sure it is. You get the home button back... Sure long press doesn't work like it used to, but I think that would require changes to the base system which is highly undesirable.

Keep your versions back if it's that big of a deal to you.

I'm using the 20-10 version, is there a newer version that I'm not aware of?

There's a rootfs dated 22-10 - do you have it? For the kernel that appears to be the newest. Why can't you just check the autobuild site...?

Sure it is? So where is the sleep function? Do I have a dead button still?, and to say not to update because of that is lame. Its never a good idea not to update. Its not the same, problem not solved, and not updating is NOT the answer.

Yes I know, but why in the world would the default behavior be to have two sleep buttons and no home button?

Blame the Android base for making the end key sleep...

Our phones weren't meant to run Android, so things are going to be wonky. Suck it up, or stick to WinMo - not trying to be a ****, just real.

Do you have a dead button? No. Sleep function? It's the power button. Of course it's lame not to update, you're the one whining about something not working how you think it should work. This is how the devs feel it should work. Don't like it, keep your phone back. I'm just giving you an option to your stubbornness, take it or leave it.

That answer would totally make sense if they didn't already have it working in a way where we have a home button we can hold down and a sleep button.

I must have missed something, what was the impetus for this change?

And please, don't think I don't appreciate what they've done, for free, to get Android going on our phones. I'm not demanding any changes, merely voicing my concern for a change that appears to be taking a step back rather than forward. If it gets changed back great, if it doesn't, I'm not asking for anyone's scalp!
