Yeah I read that 20 some pages back and completely forgot about it. However, when trying to set it up, it stated I need to enter a 3 digit number for the MCC and 2 or 3 digit number for the MNC. Once I did that and save it, it does not appear in the APN list (should it?).

should be a new update with working APN here pretty soon. Stand by patiently, Im also learning how to compile my own system.ext2 from the froyo repo, so it will probably be tomorrow when I am done. :)

Wow, I made a comment about an issue last night and a fix was in-place this morning. Amazing! :headbang: Thanks Matt! Btw, it fixed the issue, only when I used the Android Loader and forced CDMA. Loading via haret.exe does not work as I expected.

You might try a complete reinstall and manually update the rootfs. Everything works for me on Blazin, although I'm only overclocked to 768MHz.

Hey guys,

Do any of you know whether we can update to the 7/16 build from the 7/15 build simply by using the update tool? I've already configured my 7/16 froyo fairly extensively and realllllly don't want to reimage :(

Can I also simply uninstall the old build, and reinstall the 7/16 build and keep my data.img file?

when I reboot my phone and use windows, then boot into android, the data connection won't go out of airplane mode in the networking settings panel. I have to reboot the phone into windows and then boot into android a second time to get a data connection/out of airplane mode.

Actually, I'm almost positive you'll be able to do this since it's still 2.2, simply a newer version. From 2.1 to 2.2, this didn't work. But it should now.

I really hate to be the new guy that asks the dumb question, but for getting android OS on the TP2
http://sites.google.com/site/androidport/downloads

from there and follow the directions is the way to go right?
I ask because I don't know if this forum has competing devs or what the situation is but there are several threads with links to getting the OS. With this being the sticked one should I assume this is the dev or team is the one that this site PPCGeek considers the most complete?

I had to set my startup text to 787000 (768MHz) to get it to run. Mine cannot run at 800000 (787MHz). Other than that, it runs great!

This is the one you want...it is the most complete for TP2 CDMA

I had the same thing. It rebooted a couple of times, it locked up on boot a couple of times. Never made it past the text boot screen. Took that line out of the startup.txt and haven't had a problem since.

The OP reefermattness does a tremendous job updating the thread. This is by far the easiest way to install android on the Rhodium!

Had same prob, i dropped it back to 700000 and booted fine. Also had to change my default keyboard in startup.txt. Seems like it was set to tilt2. so far best android experience i've had on the phone. search is working in the market. great job!

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [7/16] NEW FROYO BUILD V3

I got the download, but I am not seeing this startup.txt you guys are mentioning that you made the changes in.

I have a setup.xml in there but that's about it.

It's basically just putting all the various files into the sd storage area.

edit: i just found the startup utility I missed that, will see how it all goes now

re-edit: no luck so far so just deleted all the files off and will try a fresh extract on to the sd card now that I have the startup.exe on there already and see if that helps.

been trying to get this going from the .cab download, going to try the .rar and see. If I understand this right the startup.txt is something you mess with once you boot into the android OS. I have not got to that point yet.

What I did in my case was use Titanium backup to backup all my apps and settings for each app, then cleared out everything and started from scratch. Reinstalled Titanium backup and reinstalled all my apps with their settings, and I was good to go, even all my email accounts were already back and settings for each kept by titanium backup.
The only thing I had to do was get my phone settings back to the way it was, vibrate, brightness, etc. But it was fairly really fast because everything else is tied to google :-)

Negative, use a text editor BEFORE booting into Android, while you are still in WinMo. Make sure you save it as a .txt and NOT a .doc.

Wipe the SD card and start over is the best way to make sure it works properly, but you can also just try to uninstall/install with the new cab, it will recognize the old cab being on there, and force you to uninstall it. You may have issues doing it this way, and will need to delete your data.img file to fix the issue.

I could use the command path to where this .txt is.

Thanks

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [7/16] NEW FROYO BUILD V3

No, edit the startup.txt before booting into android. If you are not overclocking, I don't think there is any need to edit the startup text. Be sure your SIM card is removed also. Select Rhod400 for the Sprint keyboard map. Using the Startup Utility, check Force CDMA. No need to check 3D Hardware a this point.

You CAN use Gen Y Gual Boot for this, yes, but I do not. If you install any of my cabs they will give you a startup utility and a start menu shortcut to launch android.

Since I stopped trying to extract the .cab I do get the projectandroid icon inside the SD card when I browse to there via file explorer, but I keep getting installation unsuccessful. I have tried DLing the BLZN cab three times so far.

Could the problem be with this startup.txt? I still have not touched that part.

k if I extract the whole .rar to the sd card or just move the whole [MJG]Rhod.2.2Blazin.XxXxXx directory onto the sd card after i soft reset and browse to the folder. When I open the folder it is blank
If I just put the andboot folder the same thing happens the folder is empty

If I just move the content onto the sd card then soft reset the folder has the contents including the haret.exe and the MJGDroidUtil.exe is on the SDcard but both give the same error msg.

If you are using the .rar do you need to get the startup utility seperately and install it beforehand?

rar files are like a zip. you need winrar, pocketrar or maybe 7zip in order to extract the files.

I did extract them, is there somewhere specific on the sd card the folder should go?

edit: oddly enough when I just put the files back on the sd card and did not soft reset I was able to run the haret.exe but could not get past defualt.txt or whatever that was saying

Means you need a startup.txt file in your andboot folder. If you have one, then its probably corrupt, and needs to be replaced.

Yes, there have been many system updates since then, and the update utility does not update your system image.

1) my 4 front facing buttons ALWAYS are lit up and don't turn off
2) the backlight to the keyboard never comes on
3) when I do the "update" and it boots, the lock screen comes up and it reboots. over and over so I have to re-install the .cab file.

1. I'm guessing that when you boot up android you pressed one of those keys and the buttons are lit up. If so, they will stay lit while android is on. What you have to do is make sure that those buttons are not lit when you start android.
2. The Keyboard backlight won't go on in android unless you have it on in Windows Mobile, so if you slide the keyboard and the keyboard light is on then it will stay on in android, but that is also a problem because it will stay lit the WHOLE time even when the keyboard is hidden.
3. I'm not exactly sure what is going on with this, I believe there is a problem with one of the update options. I think it is the "rootfs.img" but I'm not exactly sure.
