Auto update has worked for some, but I had no luck with it. It's possible that my issue had more to do with needing to lower the Overclock to 750000...

Give it a try and let us know how it goes for you.

Ok, I'm not a TOTAL noob, I've read all the stickies and some of the more technical stuff but I'm MUCH more familiar with the WM side of things...how can I confirm I've been upgraded? I didn't take note of my build number or anything before running the auto update.

I tried the update utility in the regular unoverclocked version of froyo and after I update, i launch android, it gets to the unlock screen and freezes and reboots, dunno whats going on

I'll be the kill joy here and say "pipedreams." Never gonna happen. His "friend" will lose interest after a day and then drop the project. Sound development, back to square one.

No, but we will actually try to incorporate a system update tool on the next big update to the startup utility. The system.ext2 is the only real major file you need to replace in order to upgrade your OS version, so you can download a rar and just replace it in the andboot folder on your sd card. Usually also requires a delete of the data.img.

Yo Reefer-

I just noticed you added an RC1 Froyo to your download page...is this the same as what you posted a few days ago or does this include more tweaks?

I noticed the same thing but the cab or rar file still says 16...Are you uploading tonight?

You probably have the same one, I just didn't know it was actually called RC1, I thought it was beta build 3. :P It actually does have a couple things tweaked, and I added a custom XDAndroid boot animation to the BLAZN version today but if you have the version from when i changed the download page and added the 2 diff versions then you have almost the exact same 1.

I didnt change the date because i didnt want to have to change the download links, but i did actually make changes today. You guys watch me like a hawk. :P

That google page is really easy but the links for downloads they have are a bit weird and a pain to set up, ill probably change that up here pretty soon too its a little annoying and i dont like that it says "view". :)

No all of the changes were system changes. Download the rar, open it, take out old system.ext2 replace old one inside of "andboot" then launch Android. At the worst, If it still does weird things, then get back into windows, delete your data.img from the same folder, and you'll be fine after that.

From Post#1:

NOT WORKING IN THIS BUILD:
  • BT
  • Sound (in call mic and earpiece work, no ringtones or music)
  • Camera
  • Opengles: using software rendering for the time being.
  • Battery Meter

Don't worry, we are not keeping secrets, if anything changes, you'll know the same time everyone else does.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [7/18] FROYO RC1 w/ APN.x

Hi Everyone, i was looking through the FAQ and this forum but i was not able to find a solution to this issue i have been having!

I have a Sprint TP2 with MightyRom installed and the newest FROYO RC1 installed. What i have seen consistently is that the first time i load and run Android it works fine. I get data and phone both working the first time. However after i power down Android to load WM back up then try to load Android again, i get neither data or phone working!

Here are things i have tried to fix this issue:
1. make sure "force cmda" is checked and also checked the startup file to see if it was set to 1.
2. set my phones WM settings to CDMA only, not "international"
3. tried restarting/reinstalling Android several times, but always the first time works but the next sessions will not work.

Any help would be great!

Thanks

I don't have that problem with my Sprint TP2. I did notice that in the 2nd boot, it takes it a bit longer to pick up a signal/data.

hey reefer: do u rmbr what u did in the first blazin build that got rid of the notification light being on all the time? It annoys me to no end. The new blazn version has the leds enabled though. I've tried led effects but it doesnt seem to do anything

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [7/18] FROYO RC1 w/ APN.x

I did a soft reset and everything is not working again. Getting the net error when I try to open project android icon, and get a later version installed, must uninstall that before I can uninstall the net.cab that is new to the download page.

I then deleted the .cab and data.img off the SD card DLed the new cab, installed that and all I am getting when I boot up is some animation that scrolls through some phones and junk that doesn't stop looping.

I guess this is like my old computer, I turned everything off again and started from scratch and now it's working.

getting apps and ect back and will see how it goes

I would like to know this too. I would rather not know whether my phone is asleep or not than drain the battery and kill my notification light by having it on 24/7. The phone sleeps properly for the most part anyway under Android. Just disable it already lol

Using LED effects you can get it to turn off by messing with the settings a bit. Just for those worried about their LED burning out(not to mention the insignificant power a LED bulb uses) the low end LED bulb has about 50,000 hours of use before it will burn out, that would mean you would have to leave your handset LED on for 2083 days straight before it did. Of course there is always that one random instance when it goes out early, so i do understand. I would rather have LED notifications personally. :joker:

I like the LED notification, but my light just stays on since I installed the latest build. How do you have your's set so that it just comes on when you have a notification like missed call, or unread text?

Is there some trick to getting GPS fully working in the latest builds? It was previously working just fine for me in the 2.1 builds. When I updated to the latest Froyo build, Google Maps always placed me just off the coast Africa. I remember this sort of behavior from earlier 2.1 builds, but it started working properly at some time. Froyo seems to have taken me a step backwards, unless I'm missing something obvious.

The trick is Patience. Its also a virtue. :P

It has not gotten a full lock on you yet, keep the screen on for 5-10 minutes and it will find you and be very accurate, and take about 10 sec per lock after that.

Copy and paste startup from andboot to the root of the sd card, I believe currently startup will be 0 bt.

leave the messed up 0kb one there in the startup folder, name the second one default.txt and when that screen comes up asking for it just click "run" and it will bypass the startup, and run the default.txt instead. :)

This is a bit off topic but what's up with video playback? anything out there for tp2 users yet?

Mind you I'm not even referring to flash 10.1, but I'll take that too if its out there.

There is really no reason for regular users to have it, its actually set up still for when we were debugging sleep mode. Green - sleep Orange - wake so you can disable it with led effects if you would like to.

Basically the battery drain is negligible so there's little to worry about. Its purely about preference.

No it doesn't have to be empty. Android does not touch your other files, but no-one can guarantee that android won't nuke your files due to some weird bug, so if you don't want to lose anything, make a backup!
