Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
bertimus, unfortunatly the differences in hardware between the devices make this impossible beyond what is already being done. Android itself is an operating system that is a version of Linux made specifically for cellphones. However in order to run, specialized code has to be written to tell Android how to communicate with the specific device it is running on. The version of Android that is being used for this project is the same version being used on the Hero and other Android phones, but the differences in hardware is what this project is about.

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
Shawnageek, check the first post in this thread and follow the instructions. The latest build should have WiFi working as long as it isn't protected by WEP encryption (WPA and WPA2 work fine). Also, if you pull your SIM card out of the phone before rebooting, you should also be able to have 3G data service working on Verizon (I have verified this) and Sprint provided you have data coverage.
Also, be sure you have cleared out any old files left over from the previous versions you have had installed. If you don't get rid of your data files, then it may not initialize android properly with the newest release. |
