You do need to remove the sim card.
Where do I get the bootloader, just in case something happens? Does my phone need to be unlocked to run Android?

Thanks and sorry for my noob questions...
Before everyone starts flaming you for not reading the posts I'll give you the straight answer

don't think it can really brick the phone since it just reboots the phone and starts android.

I would backup your storage card (using computer) then load all of the files onto the root of it.

Turn off your phone, take out the SD card (you HAVE to do this).

Turn back on the phone, go to file explorer and click on haret.exe, you should now be booting into android! when in android you will probably need to go to the network settings and run the network auto setting to find your carrier and for everything to start working.

PS... the first time you boot up it will take a few minutes! You may think it's froze, but just let it sit there for 5-6mins if need be!

you shouldn't need the boot loader! this is not like loading a custom rom!!
I don't believe it needs to be unlocked to run android, but I could be wrong.
Mine is unlocked though

Thanks for the help. Sorry for asking, but I pretty much know nothing about Smartphones.

I have a question though, you say "Turn off your phone, take out the SD card (you HAVE to do this).", but don't you need the SD card to boot to Android?

They meant SIM card not SD card

This is still MrPippy's RIL Library it is just on the current rootfs.img as of that date. So as mentioned by Mackie, no it won't work with GSM. If you want to use GSM, then you just use the normal autobuild rootfs and go. The RIL changes MrPippy made conflict with GSM currently. In time that should get merged.

I am looking forward to checking this out over the next couple of days. One quick q: Is it tether over wi-fi only, or does it also include support for tether over usb (i.e., so that one can use phone as modem and have direct connection between computer and internet (and ip address assigned directly to computer from carrier))?

Thanks again, and great work.
I am not the developer, your best guess is mine. But pretty sure it is Wifi only. If you are on a different phone he even has it working with Bluetooth as well. But Bluetooth still is in the works on Rhodium.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/5.0.16823/1076; U; en) Presto/2.4.15)

I need some help.
I'm trying to add support for hebrew fonts (so I don't get blank boxes when viewing hebrew), after some reading I found that you can do it by editing the fonts in the system.sqsh/font folder, unfortunatly I don't know how to do that, since system.sqsh is locked it has to be extracted and the remounted, I have no Linux knowledge. can you help. Thanks
