After you rename zimage.whatever to just zimage, it will replace the old one. To be safe, I would take them off the card and keep them in a folder somewhere on your pc incase the "New" build is a flop. It happens sometimes. Leaving the old modules file in there is only going to lead to unexplained conflicts in the future. Cut old to pc and replace with new.

I have started throwing together a development base on my vmware machine.
I am not really looking to provide anything of use, unless I happen to stumble upon something helpful. Overall it might teach me how to code/develop better. Anyway, I got started with the info in the XDA forum about setting one up. Getting android source now. Just want to understand more about what all is going on under the hood.
