Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
so i extracted flyers package to the root of my sd card and ran the haret file, but it wouldnt finish booting up. i got to the black screen with the tiny white lines of text and it kept running through those for a long time, but never seemed to finish. twice i let it go for about 20 minutes each before resetting. am i doing something wrong or missing a step? sorry if this has been answered, i just couldnt find it. from the single post instructions, i thought thats all there was to it.
thanks in advance, im really looking forqard to getting this booted up. i had been thinking android might be my next phone, but if we can get sound, camera, and bluetooth working on this i dont think i would even need to switch! |

It is hard enough to keep up with the dev work as is because updates aren't organized all that well yet. We're just getting started to do this could REALLY spin out of control once more people jump on board. |

I think all the links should be in the first post. They would eliminate having to read the same questions over and over. |

But since I helped fuel the 'live wallpaper' fire I'll apologize. Didn't mean to piss you off. Thanks to the pros who answered though. You guys rock. And Eschelon was right. It was adding hw3d.force=1 to startup that was causing the problem so we can move on now that the issue is resolved :) |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
Just a heads up to those that don't follow the IRC channel...
no2chem has battery readouts working correctly (well, mostly) so hopefully soon we'll be able to monitor battery life while in Android :thumbleft: |

By greek I mean this... Here's an example conversation from the channel: makkonen: I don't think the others get used very often if ever. but better to have and not need them than vice-versa, I guess Markinus: NetRipper: Is on your device too, that the values e.g. from GPIOs 0xa900000 are changing after a write every time to 0x1c860054? I did notice that the video showed a build that looked to be utilizing HTC sense. I am downloading the latest stuff to see if this goodness has been added. |

EDIT: I just watched that video on engadget... If that's the vid you are referring to, then that's not HTC Sense. But maybe you're referring to a different video... |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
Yeah, it's not sense. It's a widget called Beautiful Widgets, which seems to be unavailable in the market now. It's not free either.

- Google Maps navigation also works though GPS is buggy/crashes. - Google Earth isn't working Overall, cool experience. Great Job by the developers. Thumbs UP. |

In fact, it's not a bad idea to go into settings and turn off GPS since it's a battery hog and isn't properly functioning anyways. Might get you better battery life for the time being :thumbleft: |

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
I have used the other versions from 95CIVIC and this one is taking way longer to install. So far I am on about 10 minutes. The last ones were loaded all under about 3 minutes or so. Is this common for this new 3/10 version?

What I did was to download a file browser for the market, then went to the AndroidApps/media folder and installed the PickLiveWallpapers application. I was also needed to allow installing third-party non-market apps. |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
Ok, so I downloaded Flyers zip, unzipped it to the root, and tried to run HaRET...
Says "Booting Linux" the progress bar fills up and it vibrates twice, then freezes. Can anyone point me to what I'm doing wrong in this process? EDIT: When I say "unzipped it to the root" I mean that I unzipped and moved everything from the nested folder in the ZIP file to the root of my SD, I didn't leave the Droid 3.9.10 folders. |

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
for the record, if anyone cares which i bet they don't. But, it was my SD card that was keeping android from booting. for some reason no matter how many times i formatted it it didn't run. swapped out memory cards, and shazam! works like a charm

this happened to me too for a while. i ended up formatting the card and it got into the linux bootloader. but then it would loop and loop and loop until i swapped out the card. the one that wasnt working was a 4gb kingston microsd HC class 4 |
